Reply: very unprofessional reply from a business owner. An apology wasn't even made for making a customer feel unwelcome. Just proved my point.
You are the one making your business look bad by your unprofessional reply and calling a customer names.
Google reviews are here for this exact reason, for feedback.
How is it backbiting when I literally posted on here for you to see and I said the first staff member was lovely and the food was nice also gave the food 4 star review?? That is what Google reviews are for, feedback to the business owners.
What's funny is I was literally thinking of giving this business another chance and hold an event here for a huge number of people but that reply just shows the rude customer service I was complaining about.
Original post. This review is not to make the business look bad but rather on where the business needs improving.
Last night was our first time at this restaurant and at first I thought the staff were lovely up until we finished eating and were waiting 10-15minutes for the food to settle before we order our desserts and more drinks to then have a lady come up with a plastic bag (10 minutes after I had put the left over food in a takeaway container) and I thought ok I never asked for it and it never came the first time around but that was nice but odd to come out 10 minutes later and literally minutes after her a male staff approched us advising us the table was booked and we had to leave within half an hour even though there were plenty of empty seats around and we weren't even offered another seat. On the very rare occasion any restaurant had said the table was booked they ALWAYS offered another table for us. It then clicked to me that the plastic bag was a way to get us out because we had finished eating and not ordered anything else for 10 - 15minutes (even though we were just about to order desserts and more drinks). I definitely felt we were just a number and it was all about money and not real customer service. The funny thing out of all of this is I work for an events company and I was thinking "oh this is a big place and might be nice to hold a few events" and when we were somewhat politely kicked out, this restaurant definitely won't be on my list of venues.
If you want to have a nice dinner and relax and chat with your friends then this is not the place. It is an "in and out" restaurant.
We went to another restaurant for dessert and we were never rushed. We enjoyed our dessert and drinks and relaxed like how eating out should be.
This place is on the expensive side for average food, especially when there were no options for dietry requirements either. However, the food was nice.
Just because we were basically made to feel we had to leave and rushed and felt like we were just a number I won't...

Read moreI'm really sad that I have to give a 1 star rating. I was really routing for these guys to bring back the nostalgia of the burwood days. The waiters were lovely I must say, but the wait time and food quality was not up to even an edible standard. We went as a group of 5 and ordered 5x of their traditional chicken mushroom dish. Sadly all 5 dishes were completely raw and inedible and were promptly removed from the table. Also the Chips were cold and the food had almost no flavour. The waiters were great in the sense that they acknowledged, agreed and profusely appologised for the inedible dishes and gave us the option of starting the order again. However the wait time would have been another 45 mins after already waiting almost an hour for our orginal order. By then we were bit turned off dinner and over the wait time and decided to leave. We payed for our drinks and very underwhelming entrees. But in all honesty the situation could have been corrected if the manager had appologised to us and offered to cancel the drinks bill since we needed to now find a new place to have dinner. Sadly our night was ruined by that time and we left without dinner. I think if they offered to cancel the bill and appologised to us I would have come back and given them another go and not written this review. Mistakes happen in a new restaurant finding their feet and I don't particularly like writing them off if they delt with the issue in a good way.
Another thing to add, given I was heavily pregnant, I asked to get a chair with sides as the small bar looking chairs we were seated on had minimal support. They told me it was "a bit of a stretch" to give me a different chair because other tables with different chairs were reserved, even though no one was sitting on them the entire time we were there and we also had a reservation and thus my friend decided to arrange a chair for me after about 30 mins.
If the situation was dealt with better I would've loved to give this place a second chance. But sadly it went from bad to worse. Starting the moment we entered the the place from wait times, uncomfortable seating that could not accommodate for customers needs, inedible raw food followed by a poor way of managing errors.
Sorry guys perhaps if the old chef is back we may just give this place another go. I'm still holding on to hope that the old Georges makes it's way through and somehow...
