A bit disappointed with food, but service was good.
This was the first time I went to the IMC in Kirwan, and was looking forward to a much more convenient location than the one on Palmer st.
For entree's we had the salt & pepper calamari and the chicken skewers. The calamari was a good temperature but had way to much salt than I would say is ok. The chicken skewers were also a tad overcooked but tasted ok. Both small things that might have just been wrong on the night.
For mains everyone in our party had a different cut of steak and overall we were disappointed in each . Possibly due to my previous experiences with IMC and even back to when they had dry aged steak on the menu (please bring this back). One of the steaks was undercooked from how we ordered but the friendly staff offered a free drink when they found out, they offered to get a new one first, but turned it down so we didn't have a person waiting for a new dish while everyone else was eating. Finally the chips had no seasoning on them at all.
So overall this may have just been an off night of the kitchen , but i've been to the original IMC steak house multiple times and never had an issue. And when you pay the amount IMC charges I expect to not have problems. So just a bit sad that the new one closer to me had all these things wrong on my...
Read moreWe were recommended to come here by kings rd vet as we're both big steak fans. We had dinner on Saturday night the welcome was lovely being shown to our table. Ordered drinks only one arrived partner had to chase up the other one. We had the chicken for entree and Kilpatrick oysters the chicken was beautiful however the oysters were overcooked and mush nice sauce though lovely smoky bbq flavour. However its not something you want when ordering oysters.
Very disappointed that we hadn't even finished our entrees and our mains arrived so both our mains started to go cold. I couldn't even say anything to the waitress because she dropped the meals so quick and just left. I feel this place definitely needs to implement the table away service. My eye fillet was a bit chewy nice amount of charcoaling. There is definitely not enough sauce on the steaks. My partner had the Wagyu rump and said it was beautiful however one side had been cut off.
We're hoping next time we come back the service is a bit better and our oysters are...
Read moreFirst up, phone ordering was super easy (thank you COVID-19 for forcing takeaway upon us). Guy on the phone was pleasant to deal with and was very accommodating to our special requests. Second, the timing was spot on. We ordered to get our food by 6 and it was ready at about 5:57. Perfection. Third, the smell was phenomenal. The portion size was very adequate and the food was delicious. My 600g Rump was cooked a near perfect med rare (if a little under that but still very pleasing) and had the best charring pattern I have seen in a long time. My wife's chicken, whilst cooked perfectly, was not pleasing to look at and lacked a little flavour (a minor nit-pick but warranted). Chips were good considering the 20min drive home but the star of the show for sure was the 1/2kg chicken wings. Easily the best value item on the menu. Some of the most meaty chicken wings I've had, ever. Everything was well priced for takeaway, especially the $2.50 beers, and we would be pleased to eat this...
