Perfect Cakes Perth — Local services in Wembley

Let me preface this by saying I NEVER leave bad reviews as I know it can hurt a small business and have done everything to resolve this but staff have been unwilling.

My mum ordered me a gorgeous birthday cake from their affordable range. It looked beautiful and we were so excited to try it.

The chocolate cake itself was ok, about as good as a Coles cake, but the frosting tasted like nothing. Not bad, not good, actually no flavour at all.

I contacted Perfect Cakes via Instagram and the respondent was friendly but said my mum had to contact the person she ordered the cake through. So she did, but this person (who never gave her name, but answers the mobile number on the webpage) basically blamed us and gave us this advice: Your mum only ordered an affordable cake and couldn't choose the flavour (fair enough but it shouldn't be devoid of flavour right?) You have to eat it on the day you picked it up (we did, within 2 hours) You have to store it in the fridge (we did immediately when we got it home) If you don't store it in the box, the condensation in the fridge will ruin it (it stayed in the box, though I can't imagine condensation takes flavour away). The cake has to be returned within 48 hours or it will be dry when we inspect it (i already told them the actual cake is fine and why didn't they tell me on Instagram it had to be 48 hours?) The cake has to be returned as it was picked up (well that's obviously impossible when the taste is an issue).

So after not getting anywhere via text and having the same advice given over and over while not addressing the actual problem, I decided to call them. All I wanted to ask is what the actual frosting flavour is supposed to be. But the person just kept talking over me with the same advice about storage and how the cake was chocolate and my mum wasn't able to choose a frosting flavour. And something irrelevant about raspberry cakes and raspberry frosting. I just wanted to ask one question but she didn't even let me do that, then said she had other cakes to get to and hung up on me. So after all that, I still don't know what the frosting is supposed to taste like, but I'm sure that "air" isn't supposed to be the answer.

I ordered a chocolate and strawberry flavour, and it was moist, flavourful, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. Their services were professional and easy to communicate with, ensuring every detail was exactly as I wanted. Delivery was on time, and the cake was in perfect condition. I have ordered twice and have never been disappointed. I will definitely be ordering from them again for future events....
