My family and I have been to this local restaurant at least a handful of times (at most 10 times). We really rated the food until Friday 28th March. We ordered the usual takeaway dishes. When we were all having dinner together back home, my son found a slug/maggot (attached photos) in his Rogan Josh curry. All of us immediately stopped eating. I took all the takeaway dishes and one other untouched curry back to the restaurant to get a refund. I was very discreet when I explained to the staff and manager the slug/maggot I found in their dish as there were customers in the restaurant. The manager took a look at the photo and she instantly exclaimed that it was "Impossible". Without explaining to me what she was doing with my phone, she took my phone to the back of the kitchen to show it to the chef. I requested one of the waitresses to quickly return my phone (which was unlocked) as I felt extremely uncomfortable that my phone could be tampered with. The manager came back saying that she was just showing the photo on my phone to the chef. I explained to her how uncomfortable I was as I have personal information on my phone. She didn't apologise for doing that and neither did she or the staff apologise for the slug/maggot in the Rogan Josh, and not to mention, inconvenience. Only when I pushed the second and the third time that I wanted a refund and that I was returning all the curries, they finally refunded my money in cash. I was made to look like I concocted a fairy tale. Well, I won't be going to this place again!!! I am only posting a review because I don't want other customers to go through what I went through!

Shalimar Curries on Cambridge Street, Wembley, is a culinary gem that consistently delivers a delightful dishes. The Kadai Paneer, bursting with rich flavors and perfectly cooked paneer, is a standout dish that showcases the chef's mastery. The Onion Bhaji, crispy and golden, offers a delightful crunch with a well-balanced blend of spices and the portion of generous. The Kadai Lamb is a true testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. The tender lamb, simmered in a flavorful Kadai sauce, creates a harmonious fusion of textures and tastes. The Vegetable Samosas are a delightful appetizer, featuring a flaky crust and a savory filling and authentic mint sauce accompaniment that exemplifies the restaurant's dedication to authentic Indian cuisine. Completing the ensemble is the Garlic Naan, a soft and fragrant bread that pairs exceptionally well with the main dishes. The garlic infusion adds a delightful aromatic touch, making it a must-try accompaniment. Shalimar Curries stands out for its delectable dishes. This restaurant is a true culinary haven for those seeking authentic and high-quality Indian cuisine in Wembley.

This place never disappoints its been a year or so since my last visit. Last night I was hesitant to come through (traveling from the south) as you would think they’d be some changes so I had my reservations. However, I ordered my usual chicken 65, butter chicken, garlic and cheese naan and beef madras..annnnnnddddd it tasted the same as it did when I first tried it in 2012. Met with the owner to say thank you...what an amazing team they have.. Oh....and Please open a restaurant down south so my commute wouldn't be so far ☺️lol

We've previously been disappointed with the quality of Perth Indian food, but were surprised at the more authentic style of curries they served. There was a good selection of both meat and vegetarian choices and they were all a natural colour rather than the artificial bright colours of some Indian restaurants. None were excessively oily either.

They have some midweek special offers, but we didn't think they were much of a saving or adventurous as we wanted to be more interesting than chicken tikka masala and korma.

All the dishes were fairly mild, even the vindaloo and madras, but that wasn't a problem. Despite what others have said, we found the portions to be on the smaller side, and the rice and bread was massively overpriced. $8 for a "large" rice which was really only enough for two people is too much. For the curries, we had 5 dishes amongst 4 people and had some leftovers, which the waitress was kind enough to offer to pack to take home if we wanted. We didn't bother as it was mostly just sauce.

On a positive note, they offer BYO, and didn't charge us any corkage. Although they did nothing for us regarding the wine, like an ice bucket,, so it would have been a bit rude to...
