The Wembley Hotel — Restaurant in Western Australia

Really disappointed tonight. We have been regular visitors for the past 30 years and tonight’s meal was definitely the worst. I recommended to my visiting family to meet at the Wembley so was embarrassed that my visiting cousins order was wrong ( she ordered a salad but was brought the pork belly )so we all waited while her salad was made. The promised 2 minute wait was highly exaggerated. Unfortunately that gave me plenty of time to stare at the sad looking fish tacos in front of me. I’ve ordered the fish tacos here plenty of times and it’s never looked like this. Yes the menu has changed which obviously isn’t the first time in all the years we have visited but honestly these were awful. No taste and come on , a bit of diced tomato ,some feta and a smear of avocado? Go back to the old faithful of coleslaw and aioli. Two people ordered the pork belly special but they ran out of broccolini- do they want spinach instead? Yeah pretty easy to open a bag of spinach and whack that on a plate. The service was very slow and my brother ordered a coffee which we got sick of waiting for so gave up hoping it would appear. Considering how long everything else took to arrive we would probably still be waiting. After all this time maybe it’s time to find...

Do not dine there on a Monday. Chicken Roulade was dry and yet mushy. Prawns and Chorizo Salad, was supposed to have panko crumbs ... they were battered and fried, more batter than prawns and hard, both to cut and eat. Dressing way too heavy, most unpleasant meal. Pork Belly was dry and fatty and the crackling could not be cut or chewed into pieces. Broccoli on all meals was undercooked. Desserts were good. Waiter was amazing, full credit. Very disappointed to have to review so poorly, the Wembley is usually so much better than this. Lesson learned ... do not dine on a Monday, maybe others know, we pretty much had to dining room to ourselves. Pity it was for a Birthday lunch 😔 Edit after response by the Wembley ... the Roulade was replaced by the Prawn Chorizo Salad which was inferior and when asked as we were leaving I told the Manager on duty just that. The other Roulade was replaced with steak and the fat had not been rendered and although grill marks were on it, it was stewed. We ate what we could because we were hungry!! My elderly Aunt paid the bill whilst I was out of the room and did not want to...

Went today and I have to say my plate was good. But we ordered 4 meals and only 3 came out. So 3 of us just about finished and we had to track down staff to say we are missing a meal. After a while she came back and said only 3 meals ordered and showed receipt. I felt like she didn't believe I paid for the meal So I told her the exact price on our card was put on my card for the food only, she said she would look into it. Also my friend had lamb rack with grilled peach. So we said there's no peach, 2nd item described on the menu. She said oh. See below in photo of menu. A while later after 3 of us had finished she came with the 4 dish and said there was a system problem. Ok granted mistakes happen. But no apologies for either dish. No offer to the person watching everyone else eat, a free drink. They were not that busy, even flow of customers. And we went to check it out for a function but now I'll look elsewhere due to staff. Staff could be more apologetic for their mistakes and care more. I felt a very CBF vibe coming from the waitress....
