Worst experience ever. I am extremely disappointed with my recent visit to this cinema. At no point was it made clear that the seats at the very front cost extra. The tiniest sign is outside the cinema which we didnt see. There were no signs on the seats, no barriers, and no ushers directing people where to sit. Naturally, we sat down like many others would.
Around 50 minutes into the movie, a young girl asked me to move but my grandsons were settled and in my mind it was too late. Aaron came in, paused the film in front of a full audience, and aggressively told us to move. This created a huge spectacle and was very upsetting, especially for my young grandchildren who were left frightened and embarrassed. They now say they never want to go to the cinema again because of how distressing this was.
This situation could easily have been avoided if staff had simply explained the seating arrangements before the movie started, ushered people properly, or clearly marked the more expensive seats. Once people are seated and settled, they should not be moved mid-film as it is incredibly disruptive and unfair.
The entire experience was handled very poorly, and instead of a fun family outing, it turned into something upsetting and stressful. I believe the cinema needs to review its processes, signage, and customer service urgently so that no other families have to go through what we...
Read moreI think the cinema smelt of mildew and stale sweat. Well that was posted three months ago… at least this time the cinema didn’t smell, but unfortunately they have not improved their game. The Gladstone Cinema is a third rate cinematic experience - at best. They charged me twice for two tickets. Had I not checked (they did not tell me how much they were charging at point of sale) I would not have picked this up till later. They were not able to refund to my card, but gave me cash - in an environment where cash transactions are discouraged. The emergency exit light in cinema 5 was so bright it made the darker scenes in the film less than enjoyable, to the point of ruining the scene. Then to top off a completely underwhelming experience, the screen had about five or six very bright blue dots glaring out during the entire movie. I don’t know if this was the (digital?) projector, a screen problem or something else, but it was disconcerting and disappointing. As I said, a third rate...
Read more$53 for an adult and two young kids under 5. Plus $13 for two ice creams. Steps into actual cinema (not pram or wheelchair friendly). I had to ask the staff to physically lift my pram (I don't think this is good health and safety for them). We went to see Minecraft, I was informed this was sold out and we may not get 3 seats next to each other. The kind staff member did grab us an office chair for my son in the aisle. But I don't find it good enough to not have seats for all of us when we have paid that much money. The actual cinema is tiny. We were also not aware that Minecraft would be so violent and scary for young kids. So we left after 40minutes. For the amount of money spent, very very unimpressed. If Brisbane can offer Cineplex at such cheap prices, Gladstone should be...
