The Fields Shopping Centre — Local services in South-East District

The mall looks as though it may have potential, but for now it's not great. The bathrooms are already falling apart, but only half the shops are occupied. That doesn't bode well at all. Update: While the shops at the mall seem to have improved, and the bathrooms look a little better, they have a new frustration. The paid parking. Now I'm quite happy to pay for underground parking, especially in this Botswana heat, but they make it as difficult as possible. The pay point machines have the facility to use your credit/bank card to pay, but this facility is turned off. I thus had to go draw money from the ONLY ONE ATM in the entire mall. Needless to say, there was a massive queue. I eventually got to draw money, and the machine gave me 2 crisp P100 notes. Get back to the pay point, and the machines don't accept anything larger than P50. I go back up and eventually find a shop willing to give me change. They give me 2 P50 notes. I go back to the pay point, only to see that the machine suddenly no longer accepts P50 notes. I decide to go to the parking management office, to ask for assistance, but no one is there. Lights are on, but nobody's home. I was then forced to go back upstairs, and find a shop with less than 30 people in the queue, where I can buy something small to get change. Beautiful Mall in Gaborone! It's very new, I think it was opened somewhere 2021 or 2022.

It was my husband and myself's first time in Botswana and we really enjoyed shopping here, we had all the delicious food we usually have in South Africa... It really felt like we were still in South Africa.

The Mall was spotless, I mean tiptop clean, Batswana don't litter alot, which is 👍 Public transport is very easily accessible, you can go to the taxi rank on the other side of the mall, there's a subway for pedestrians to utilise since you have to cross a big road to get to the rank.

They do accept cash and cards payments on all major stores, however, we were shocked to find out that there's no online shopping like it's not yet an in thing🤔

The area where the Mall is located at, it's not very busy and the crime rate I can say its low besides just near the mall there's a big police station, we did use their services.

Loads of clothing shops, I.e. Woolworths John Craig Options JB sports New feeling PEP stores Urban soul apparel Edgars Dunns Mr price The hub Mr. Price Sports and many others

They have gadgets, shops, and furniture shops.
