I was starting to feel overwhelmed trying to plan my trip to Iguazú by myself when I found Iguazú Falls Travel. Ever changing COVID restrictions, immigration requirements for passing through Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay, and finding consistent means of transport in all the different countries was frustrating, especially when I saw many comments on travel websites claiming it was so easy and cheap. After having crossed the borders of all three countries, I have to say those comments are horribly misleading. The borders had extremely long lines and I couldn’t imagine Ubers and taxis crossing borders with their passengers. Most likely the passengers are dumped at one side of a border and need to call for transport when they cross to the other side. Good luck if you don’t have local telephone service or WiFi. But Iguazú Falls Travel’s drivers Nestor and Daniel were able to bypass these long lines by working as a tag team, with one driver dropping you off at one side of a country’s border, and then another driver waiting for you as you stepped out of immigration. Can’t tell you how easy and fast it was crossing borders!!!

I initially sought out IFT for just airport transfers, but was impressed by the responsiveness of the person (Val) answering my emails. Val quickly addressed my many questions about the two sides of Iguazú (which boat ride is better, which side should I stay in first, etc) and helped plan my itinerary. I don’t even think I could have purchased tickets for the falls on the Argentine side without Val’s guidance! The Argentine National Park has a convoluted way of selling tickets (why would a national park need your email address to send you a link?) and it was not easy. I was also afraid of being scammed since every time I tried to get the National Park’s website, the searches diverted me to a third party selling highly inflated “tours” or “packages” that were completely unnecessary. Btw, if you need to make reservations or purchase tickets to dinners/shows and IFT has them, don’t hesitate to get them with Nestor or Val. They don’t mark up ticket prices and your eyes will pop when you see what other third parties are selling the same tickets for!!!

I was extremely pleased with the service I got from Iguazú Falls Travel. They were professional, punctual and helpful! Turned out not only did I get private transport for my stay at Iguazú Falls, I ended up getting great advice for my trip and I wasn’t burdened with the migraine inducing logistics of passing through immigration so many times for Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina! Maybe I could have done it without IFT, but it would have been painful and inefficient, and I would have missed out on a lot of things.

Our flight arrived 30 minutes early, and our driver was already there waiting for us. He promptly took us to the Argentinian passport control since we were heading to the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls first. Thanks to IguazuFalls Travel, the process was seamless. While there was a long queue of cars stretching for kilometers, the company had arranged for two separate drivers to expedite the process. We cleared Argentinian passport control in under 10 minutes and were met on the Brazilian side by Katiane, who was waiting for us after we cleared customs.

Katiane then drove us to Brazilian passport control, where the process took about 15 minutes. I had mentioned during the booking that we wanted to do a helicopter ride over the falls, and since we had saved so much time at passport control, Katiane took us directly to Helisul Helicopter Tours. She even came in with us and organized our ride, which was incredibly helpful. Afterward, she dropped us off at the entrance to the Brazilian side of the falls, came in with us again, and ensured we were all set. She explained where to get off the bus and how to walk the trail to the Devil’s Throat viewing platform.

We arranged a pickup time, and when we returned, Katiane was there waiting for us. She then dropped us off at our hotel in Foz do Iguaçu.

The next morning, we were picked up on time from our hotel and taken to Brazilian passport control, where the process was just as quick—around 10 minutes. On the other side, Sebastian, another driver, was waiting for us. He took us to Argentinian passport control, which again only took about 10 minutes, before driving us to the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls. While Sebastian didn’t provide the same level of assistance as Katiane had the previous day, he was efficient and got us to where we needed to be on time.

After a full day at the Argentinian side of the falls, Sebastian was waiting for us at the agreed pickup time and drove us to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Another huge advantage was communication. Everything ran through WhatsApp, which meant we always had the feeling that someone was looking out for us 24/7. The drivers spoke English (a rare find in this part of the world), were professional, and always punctual. Nestor deserves special mention—he not only managed our transfers and border crossings with precision but also gave us excellent recommendations for activities and time planning.

What really impressed us, though, was the personal care. At one point when we lost mobile coverage inside the park, Nestor noticed we hadn’t replied to his message. Instead of waiting to hear back, he went directly to the meeting point early, just to make sure we were safe and everything was fine. That kind of thoughtfulness shows the values behind this company.
