An Eye-Opening and Memorable Experience

This was a truly enriching experience. It gave us the chance to explore different favelas and gain real insight into daily life in these communities—beyond the usual clichés.

Our guide, Beto, was fantastic: kind, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. He gave us clear instructions on how to behave and made sure everything ran smoothly. His explanations were thoughtful and added depth to the experience. He also spoke both Spanish and English, which made communication easy when needed.

One of the highlights was visiting a local home, where we were welcomed with genuine warmth. That moment of connection made a strong impression on us.

Me and my two friends went on a big tour through the Rocinha and Vidigal favelas. From the first moment we met the tour guides we instantly felt a welcoming and warm feeling. They were so nice and funny it took away all the worries we had about going to the favelas. We met up at the meeting point. Drove up to the Favelas together in Groups. They gave us instructions when we are allowed to take pictures and when not. Simultaneously explaining the origins and the current situations in the favelas.
