Hostelzinho Vidigal — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

I stayed in the hostel for three weeks and the hostel is really nice. I was working while staying there and it was perfect because it was easy to relax since the hostel is quite small and quiet. If you're looking for a calm and peaceful place, it's perfect, but if you're looking for a very social spot with parties every other night, this might not be the perfect place for you but it all depends on who's there at the same time, I guess.||Whether you like the location or not, depends on what you're looking for, I think. I liked that Vidigal gives you a more "authentic" experience and a feeling of being in a less touristic area and it doesn't take long to go to the beaches and the center. That being said, It is a bit outside the touristic attractions and center of the city and buses/taxis are necessary - and it is a slum even though probably a peaceful one. ||The facilities in the rooms are some of the best I've ever had. Beds are big and comfortable, there are big drawers with locks for all your stuff, the bathrooms and showers are very clean and the hostel is super safe. ||On top of that, Mathias is an excellent host who makes a huge effort to make all his guests feel at home. Eu e meu marido ficamos hospedados no Hostelzinho Vidigal por uma semana durante os jogos olímpicos Rio 2016.||Chegamos no Rio pelo Galeão, pegamos um ônibus que é denominado popularmente de "Frescão", esse ônibus para no ponto de ônibus do Vidigal, ele demorou mais ou menos umas duas horas e custa uns 16 reais por pessoa. Descemos no ponto, fomos de mochila e subimos o morro a pé pela rua principal. Há um bocado de moto taxi logo na chegada, então se vc quiser pode subir de moto taxi (R$ 3,50). Durante toda a semana subimos e descemos caminhando em diversos horários e todos foram de boas - nada de perigo. ||Durante a semana sempre que saíamos íamos para esse mesmo ponto, ônibus indo para o metro ou para Copacabana é a todo instante - muito fácil e no retorno das nossas atividades era só pegar qualquer ônibus que estivesse escrito Av. Niemeyer (tem vários). Nesse ponto d Vidigal sempre desce muita gente então não tem erro. ||A subida do ponto ao hostel é ingrime, mas se você tem espírito de aventura é tranquilo; a gente subiu e desceu caminhando todas as vezes. ||Agora vamos ao hostel.. O atendimento pelo Matias é ótimo, ele te deixa em casa, gentil com todos os hospedes, gente finíssima. O hostel não tem café da manhã. E as toalhas de banho são alugadas; leve a sua toalha. No quarto há seis camas, cada cama tem uma cortina, uma tomada e uma luz. Dentro de cada quarto tem um banheiro com dois sanitários e dois chuveiros. O quarto e os banheiros são bem limpos e são agradáveis. No último andar tem uma cozinha, cadeiras e mesas, televisão e uma vista super bacana do morro....

There is something rather special about this place...it feels like home, there is nothing too small the owners will help with. Amazing views over the very safe favela. 7min walk to the beach, an Açai shop just up the road and at the bottom of one of the sight seeing mountains. Ao much to do- my favourtie place to stay in this part of Rio and will definitrely be staying again when I'm next there!|Cleanliness is superb and cosy beds even for my fussy self...
