Its March 1, and i just found out about a great app called "Toogoodtogo". It helps stores and restaurants sell food at a discount instead of throwing it out. Win win..consumer gets a bargain, and the establishment gets something for what it would get nothing for. My first use of this app was Summerhill market. I paid $7 for a quoted $20 worth of products. I have seen what others have gotten from other establishments for $7 and it is very impressive. From here...not so much. 4 small bags of shortbread cookies...most other places provide a variety but thats okay, I get it, this app sells what is leftover. A bit dissapointing, but thats part of what you expect with this type of app. What you dont expect is to get product that is two weeks past best before date. In most cases on this app, they tell you, you will get something either right at, or just past the BB date. Again, I get it, if i had received something with a date of Feb 25 or so, I would understand. The date on our cookies was Feb 16 - thats ridiculous. That date, combined with the small amount is the reason for the one star. I should add, the staff in store was fabulous...but as this was first time in that store, I would have to think twice about going back because it left...

Expensive and consistently poor quality. It is all show and nothing underneath. I have to throw away half the products I bought.

I'll give you some examples. I bought seedless green grapes with their brand, and it was the most driest thirst-inducing thing ever. The skin would linger at the back of my throat. TEN DOLLARS for what would be way cheaper and better from nofrills. I threw this away, bag full of grapes.

I got raspberry fruit leather. Again, expensive, but they show no quality in it at all. They crumbled very quickly and had no discernible flavor. Down the trash, box full.

I got sour candy, the packaging was saying extremely sour it was. Again, much more expensive than average, and hardly sour or even tasty. Went to the garbage, bag still full.

Don't even get me started on the "meals" they have in selection that are both somehow as expensive as real restaurant dishes and still taste worse than dollar-store frozen...

I recently visited the quaint yet remarkably well-stocked neighborhood grocery store, Summerhill Market, and was thoroughly impressed. Love the thoughtfully designed switchback wheelchair accessible ramp, which makes shopping inclusive and stress-free for everyone. ♿♿♿
