I had an awful experience here on Saturday july 20th near 3am. I was travelling from Sudbury and went in to get my mom & I something to eat at Tim Hortons since she was super hungry. I ask the girl who worked there what food they were serving and she said we don't serve food til 4am. Well I see muffins that are cooked over to the side and said well can I get some muffins then and she said no I can't serve that til 4am. I was like what? They are right there and already made and she said No. I am mindboggled as to why she wouldn't want to or be able to serve a muffin and lose money for the company she works for šµāš« Then I ask her okay what place serves food here then and she said subway. So I go back out to the car ask my mom what sub she wants and ask her to tell me a backup. I go into subway and the guy asks me what I would like I say a meatball sub he replies I can't serve that. Then I say okay southwestern rotisserie chicken sub and he says I can't serve that either. I call my mom and then ask him what kind of subs he's able to serve and he starts listing and she picks the first one he says ....then he says actually I can't serve that one either after saying he could. Then I was like maybe you should cover up which subs you can't do cause this is super frustrating. Then he starts labeling which ones he can do. So I say the chicken shawarma wrap and I asked for spinach he didn't get rid of the original stainless container that held it and dumped a new bag on top of the old product which is a big food no no as well and the subway wasn't well stocked or clean. So I got my mom that wrap she said it tasted like mystery meat and kinda like Tuna when it was suppose to be chicken shawarma. So not sure who is in charge of the restaurants here but maybe hire people that want to make the businesses look good and actually want to make profits for their company. It's not like the places were busy even if they went slowly to make the food that would have been fine. The whole point of an on route is to be able to go to the bathroom and be able to get food and beverages since it is open all night, and this was an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām sure as a whole this OnRoute is probably fine hence the 3 stars, but the Tim Hortonās ripped me off $21 and the manager called me a liar.
I ordered food at the kiosk but it didnāt give a receipt or order number as the device said āerrorā. I walked over to Tim Hortonās to see if there was an order number on the screen but there wasnāt and the employee said they didnāt receive it. Not a huge issue in itself, but I was already charged $21. The employee got the manager and he told me because they didnāt receive the order there was nothing they could do.
I then walked back to the kiosk and was able to retrieve my receipt by pushing random buttons (but no order number) which I took back to the manager to show that the transaction was approved and Iām out $21 with nothing to show for it. The manager then asked what my order was and when I repeated it the total was around 30 cents off than what was on the receipt so he told me that this wasnāt my receipt. I asked him if he was calling me a liar and he said no. Perhaps he thought this was some elaborate scheme I try to pull by bringing in fake receipts to OnRoute and scoring the refund. I told him I would pay the difference or take the loss but he would not agree.
It would have been so easy just to look at the time on the receipt or the last digits in the card I used to resolve this matter.
He told me that because they didnāt receive my order the money would be reimbursed automatically in a couple of business days. I disagreed wholeheartedly as my bank had approved the transaction and has no knowledge whether or not I received my order or not. He said it absolutely would be. I left not believing him.
A week later and I have not been reimbursed. I guess my warning to others is make sure you get your order number. Not just your receipt because that doesnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 stars for the Starbucks
And one star for Tim Hortons. The service there is absolutely horrible! Some of the employees do not understand you ..they dont understand English or French..and they dont really try to understand you. Laxidasical attitude with trying to make your food accurately and timely.
The problem in Canada, the people there are extremely nice and polite..too nice, if theres such a thing. ..so the employees who dont want to do their job correctly, take advantage of the locales kindness, since they know the customers wont complain.
Everyone waited at least 10 minutes for simple food like a toasted bagel...and it wasn't that crowded.
One man couldn't wait any longer so he crumbled up his receipt and left..paid for food he didnt receive.
Another man left with his supposed amount of food..only for the employee to call out a part of his order ..five minutes after he left. Why did you give him a bag of food if you didnt complete his order, or not sayin something???
They need to retrain or let go half their staff.
Starbucks was on point, the guy there should get a barista of the month award for how well he mixes his lattes. The latte had the right amount of thick foam with the coffee swirled around the foam.
Since my sandwich at Tim hortons was messed up and I returned it, I opted for a second...
