Response to the owner. It's clear that "many people love them" as per the many reviews that state that, however are you suggesting that having an opposite opinion is wrong? I paid $7.91 for 2 donuts. Which I have a credit card statement to back up. So I guess I was over charged for your "plain" donuts. I think it's pretty accurate to say "approx $4 each". As for "plain glazed" I know what I bought and "plain glazed" donuts do have a taste or at least they're supposed to. As for the donuts I purchased they weren't "3 times" the size. It's good to be passionate and protective of your business but to me you're coming off as confrontational because I shared an objective & honest opinion of my experience which you clearly think is wrong. Knowing how to effectively handle criticism (I feel) would help you in business. I tried Mmm Donuts Café & Bakery years ago and found the doughnuts terrible like most vegan baked goods. Their products were gussied up with overly sweet toppings to cover up the actual doughnut not being very good. I remember thinking I had to get them early since they were basically dried out by noon.

Recently, a friend of mine bought me a doughnut and I was pleasantly surprised. The crumb texture was excellent and very similar to a regular doughnut containing animal byproducts. The flavour still lacks depth but you’re just not going to get that with vegan ingredients. The batter could use a pinch of nutmeg but that’s just my preference.

I think they’ve dialed in their recipe and the doughnuts will appeal to the masses. I still find the fancier ones too sweet but would stick to the more classic doughnuts like the glazed and cinnamon twist.

They wouldn’t be my first pick for a treat in Barrie but I’m happy to see the vegans got it right this time.

At first you will see the price of a donut and think "Man thats way too expensive" simply because you are comparing it to the mass produced specific coffee chain donut. . Wonder why they are less than an dollar.

Maybe it will put you off just because of that. Well dont let it. These are HANDSDOWN the best donuts i have ever had..by a mile. Bigger than a coffee chain donut, more flavour, more unique, softer, fresher everything.

I have ordered a box of 6 to be split at home multiple times now, tried dozens of flavors and not a single donut has disappointed. Every last one has been good.

Of course there are favorites..if you dont try the orange creamsicle you are missing a true experience.

I have also tried the cookies and the cinnamon buns and everything is amazing.

Trust me..the little extra money is well worth it.

The store is a little out of the way in a more industrial area..but thats a good thing. Because if it was closer to home it would be very very bad for me haha.
