COSTCO clearly does not want any new customers/members!!! We got an offer in the mail to become members and went to check it out ...bad idea.
We were met at the door and asked for a membership card ..something I actually expected. What we did not expect was the attitude. We explained that we were considering membership and just wanted to check the store out to see if what was offered inside would fit us as a family. We also explained we did not want to shop at that moment ...just check it out. One of the guard said absolutely no and the other suggested we go to the membership desk and ask for a Temporary Permit.
So, we go to the line at the membership desk and after waiting no more than 10-15 minutes we got to speak to a nice lady who looked very questioning when we asked for the Temporary Permit to enter the store to see is Costco would be right for us after all we wanted to know if we were/are ready to pay 65-130CAD for the privileges'. She honestly looked like she never heard of this temporary permit before. So we explained what we wanted to do she suggested that, since we just wanted to look, we go in through the cash register in-front of her.
There we were met by two ladies who in no uncertain term told us that we were could not enter that way ...again we told our story of wanting to become members/customers and just wanting to "check it out" before spending the money but was told that would not be possible in-spite what the girl at the membership desk told us. At this point both my wife and I were tired of the treatment and left ...and honestly can't see myself coming back either.
If you read this far ...I honestly think the employees at this site does not want more members. If you are looking to become a member I offer this suggestion ..do not even try - they do not want your customs.
So why you wonder did I give one star ...well one of the people we encountered, the girl at the membership desk actually tried to be nice and helpful while, as I written, the other four were no shining ambassadors...
Read moreTo the white female manager on duty at about 1:30pm in Costco Burlington on Sunday 11 Feb- I hope no managers of big box stores are like you! Your inflexibility and inability to do your job appalls me and I hope they donât retain you for much longer here, this is definitely not the customer and family friendly Costco environment that I am used to. I normally shop Costco at Instacart because I have a small baby and it is not super convenient to spend so much time at Costco. I am an executive member and both my husband and I signed up together . As a result of so much shopping and credit card, I had 600$ worth of coupons from Costco that canât be redeemed online. So I decided to bring my baby and I came over with all the proofs of my membership, my credit card and this manager refused to help me use these coupons because my husband is also on the account and he wasnât with me on this Costco visit. I even asked her to take my credit card and validate that my husband and I have just 1 account and it is all on the same address. You were so adamant today and I understand rules are rules but you wouldnât even attempt trying to help a customer who travelled all this way with a baby. You condescending behaviour and your facial expressions made me feel so low and it seemed like I was there to commit a fraud. You donât need to be so rude and dismissive and disrespectful towards the customers- I have been a customer for last 7 years and let me tell you , I had a bill of 500$ today just in groceries and it is also not beyond my paying capacity, this coupon is not a life saver for me- just so you know!
At least the girl at the check in counter cared to apologize for the inconvenience you caused me, you lack basic human etiquette.
I hope someone reads this review to keep an eye on customer experience and makes you check your behaviour with the customers.
It is time for my renewal of membership and I am seriously considering not renewing because of low life...
Read moreOn two occassions in the last 2 months, while shopping at the Costco on Brant St these two ladies who work there (they appeared to be managers) and i use the term ladies loosely, (one short, heavy set and the other skinny grey hair)..along with a lady forkilft driver and dark skinned male forklift driver demonstrated the example of the type of workplace bullies that could result in a lawsuit or their victim doing self harm. This is a total lapse in management and HR duties to protect their employees. The behaviour toward this younger coworker that i witnessed resembled what youd see in a 3rd world, cobalt mining pit..no regard for her feelings or Wellbeing, both emotionally and physically. Im pretty sure I saw her wipe away a tear or two. maybe i should open up a Costco employee shelter for battered and abused employees? These people have no business managing or working for a company of Costco's supposed brand and corporate stature. I dont shop there that often so i can only assume these are not isolated incidents but their bullying and outwardly, (with no regard for customers within earshot or view, or the employee they were directing their bullying towards), feelings or mental wellbeing. I dont know how they can allow this type of behaviour to take place. Their actions toward their fellow co-worker were brutal. I was especially ticked to see the man forklift driver treating a lady like this. It shows some serious lack of respect for women. It was so cringy. If i was not in a rush, i wouldve said something. If that was me being bullied like that and my husband found out, he'd make sure that guy never did it again..I wanted to say something to the young lady but she looked too upset and I didn't want to upset her more.
This place needs a managerial/HR overhaul. Hope she's OK.
Why does this store have so many...
