Discriminatory Treatment at Fresh Slice, North Vancouver Location: Fresh Slice Pizza,1449 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver,BC Date: July 1, 2024 Time: 10:15 PM
My recent experience at this Fresh Slice location in North Vancouver left a lot to be desired in terms of customer service and fairness. My family and I were passing by the store around 10:15 PM and decided to have some pizza, as we noticed a special offer: pizza slices for 99 cents each in celebration of Canada Day and Fresh Slice's 25th anniversary.
Upon arriving, we noticed a family of five, who appeared to be of the same descent as the staff, being served ahead of us. Each member of this family received three slices of pizza without any issues. When it was our turn, the service we received was markedly different.
A female staff member named Aman informed us that we had to pay separately for each member of our family. I complied, paying separately for my 12-year-old son and my wife. However, when I attempted to order my own pizza, Aman stated that we could not purchase more than six slices in total for our family because we were considered a single group.
I pointed out that the family of five ahead of us had received multiple slices each, despite also being together and sitting at the same table. Aman responded that they had paid separately. I explained that I was doing the same, but she insisted on the six-slice limit for our family.
I then spoke to another male staff member and asked if he was the manager. The gentleman offered to give me the slices, but I refused because it’s not about the pizza; it’s about how you need to respect and treat your customers equally. I then expressed my concerns to Aman, explaining that it was unfair to treat that family differently than us, and requested to speak with the manager. Aman, identifying herself as the supervisor, reiterated that it was her manager's directive.
As a resident of North Vancouver for more than 20 years, I have never experienced such an awful discriminatory act in our community. Certain nationalities should not be favored over others, regardless of the store owner or employees' ethnicity. I expressed my concerns about this discriminatory practice, highlighting the unfair treatment compared to the previous family. Unfortunately, my complaint was dismissed, and we left the store feeling unfairly treated.
This experience was not only disappointing but also felt discriminatory. Customers should be treated equally, regardless of their ethnicity or nationality. I will be reporting this incident to the corporate office and strongly advise others to avoid this location. There are many other pizza shops in North Vancouver that treat their customers with fairness and respect. I wish I could give them zero stars, but unfortunately, Google reviews don't have...

Freshslice headquarters is one of the biggest scams out there. If you’re thinking of investing, DON’T! They lure you in with big promises, but once they have your money, you’re completely stuck. Mr. Ray says, “We are partners, and there is no double dipping.” Well, that’s because it’s not double dipping—it’s four times dipping! Every little thing they charge you for is ridiculously overpriced.
They claim to offer support, training, and quality products, but in reality, they buy cheap, low-quality products from China and resell them at inflated prices. You’re forced to purchase from them, and they make a massive profit at your expense. You have no choice but to accept whatever they give you.
And let’s talk about their sham of a convention. They are charging $1,000 per person to attend. With 500 people, that’s $500,000! Do you really think they’re spending that much on the event? No way—they are pocketing your money! It’s just another way for them to rob franchisees blind.
The worst part? Once you pay the $57,750 franchise fee, you’re trapped. They promise to find you a location, but we’ve been waiting for over a year, and still, nothing. No updates, no real help—just excuses. They take your money, and then you’re left in limbo with no way to back out.
Freshslice is not a business opportunity—it’s a money-grabbing scam designed to benefit headquarters while franchisees suffer. If you’re considering investing, RUN AWAY NOW! Don’t fall into this trap like we did. Worst...
