Awful hygiene, I suspect. Got an awful stomach ache the first time I had it and I assumed it was something else. Ordered it again with a friend who wanted to try. Found a few pieces of wood splinters (one of the pieces had a mouldy-brown colour to it) mixed in. Threw away the whole thing. Still got an upset stomach later.

Also, they wear gloves to handle the food/cutlery but they also take coins from customers with the same gloved hands. I saw the vendor grab a handful of coins from the last customer and then directly grabbed a plastic spoon...

The best fresh and traditional douhua you could get at a great price! $2 for the small bowl (it's a lot!) of hot douhua with ginger sugar soup. It's cash only and available on select days. There is usually a lineup for it. The lineup for douhua is separate from buying their ready products - fresh beancurd, tofu, soy milk, and cooked refrigerated items. They are delicious and wonderful for salads or topping...

Love this place so much that I frequently coming here every week to get my tofu and also the tofu pudding. They have 2 flavours for the pudding, sweet with the gingery syrup or the salty version.
