First thing that comes to mind when I think of these past two years during Covid is Chef Darnell… all for the right reasons. Chef Darnell was born and raised in Eston, Sask., I grew up there from an early age. Small town so his mom and dad we’re friends. Years later I’m living in Calgary, Covid hits and we’re all locked in with no where to go. Restaurants are closed and we are all panicked about future events, our social life and where we’ll get great food!

As Facebook friends I read his mom’s post that Chef’d is launching out on his own here in the Calgary area with private catering. Perfect, it’s worth a try right?!

Two years later I think I’ve lost count of the number of times Chef Darnell has catered an event in my home or in the home of friends and family that I’ve attended. I can’t say enough about the quality of service, the fabulous food and his attention to detail and presentation. I’m uber impressed every single time!

Moral of the story… Covid will hopefully soon be over (for good) but events with Chef Darnell will always be on the books here! Thank you Chef’d for so many amazing evenings, the fabulous food and of course, I thank you for making these special events possible during such a difficult season...

We’ve had the pleasure of working with Darnell twice now—once for a cocktail-style party of 30 people and again for our wedding rehearsal dinner, which was a formal sit-down meal. Both experiences were absolutely exceptional from start to finish. Darnell is an incredible chef who takes the time to make sure you have the best possible culinary experience. We hired Darnell to serve a six-course meal for 12 people for our wedding reception. We worked closely with him to develop a custom menu that reflected our love for food, capturing moments in our life in each dish he prepared. He uses top-tier ingredients and created a meal fit for royalty. The meal was everything we could have asked for - and exceeded every expectation. He was communicative throughout the months leading up to the dinner, was patient with our many questions and was supportive of all our needs.
