Ronald McDonald House has been nothing short of a miracle for our family. When our child needed life-saving treatment far from home, we were overwhelmed and unsure of how we would manage. But from the moment we stepped through their doors, we were embraced with kindness, understanding, and unwavering support that truly felt like a lifeline.
We were one of the last families to stay at the house before they stopped accepting families due to renovations. For the first month, the house gave us a safe haven—a place that felt like home, where we could breathe a little easier during such a stressful time. When renovations began, they didn’t leave us behind. They moved us to a hotel at no extra charge and continued their incredible care.
At the hotel, their generosity never wavered. They provided us with gift cards, meal vouchers, laundry supplies, and even change for the coin laundry—things we never thought to ask for but that made all the difference. Every gesture reminded us that we weren’t alone, and their thoughtfulness lifted so much of the weight off our shoulders.
For three months, Ronald McDonald House and their amazing team gave us more than a place to stay. They gave us hope, strength, and the ability to focus on what mattered most: our child’s recovery. Their kindness and compassion will forever be etched in our hearts.
We are so profoundly grateful and inspired by the love we received that we’ve made a promise to pass that kindness forward. We will never forget the support we were shown, and we hope to give other families the same light in their darkest moments.
Thank you, Ronald McDonald House, for being a beacon of hope when we needed it the most. Your love will stay...
Read moreMy family experienced a very tragic incident that led our family members from around canada to come to calgary. We had no place to stay that was close enough to the hospital, so having the RMDH was a BLESSING. The staff were more than helpful and the amount of amneties they have for families staying there is overwhelming. My family was not prepared for this event, but they helped us so much that it was almost easy to get through this tough time. The volunteers were also amazing. I love how they offer handmaid quilts and slippers- they made little things have so much life and love. Again, we want to thank EVERYONE involved in this organisation because it is an amazing one. Will definitely be volunteering the next...
