Northwest Commons Park — Attraction in Calgary

What a great park. Lots of climbing and slides. The swings were great but could use just regular single person swings. I also don't understand why people who design parks put arches over the rails (both my kids hit the tops of their heads on them). Good inclusive playground, tabletop tennis, giant checkerboard and a flat grassy field. Park is particularly nice for kids of different ages with something for most age groups. There isn't much shade or benches, but there is concrete seating as part of the amphitheatre/field adjacent. Parking, especially during the ongoing area construction, can be challenging but all in all a great park to visit...

This is one of our current favourite parks. It is accessible for multiple ages and abilities. The only downside is that it is in a newer developed area. Therefore there aren’t many established trees and little shade throughout the day. We try to go early in the morning or on a cloudy day and it’s perfect.
