Cosmic Pizza & Donair winterburn — Local services in Edmonton

Called in my order June 25-24 at 11:10am for a donair, the female that took my order was very rude on the phone, seemed like she was doing me a favor by taking my call. I placed my order and she told me "15 minutes". I arrived at precisely 11:25 which was 15 minutes later. There was a couple in the store waiting for their order. The lady behind counter asked why I was there, I told her I called in an order, she said "2-minutes". She hadn't started my order yet! I stand there waiting. She comes to take my payment before making my order, she kept her gloves on while handling the debit machine then goes to make my order, very unsanitary! She slams this donair together and hands it to me, it is ice cold! I get out to the car and the more I thought about the attitude, the unsanitary methods used to make my order, and the cold donair I went back in. I told her it was ice cold and presented it to her, she wouldn't touch it.... She offered to put it back in the heat press they use, I asked her if she even cooked the meat? They pre-cook and slice the meat, keep it in a warmer, then put on hot griddle when the order comes in, I think everything was off or just turned on when I placed my order at 11:10 then when she made it at 11:30 now. I was so upset with her answers to my questions I just walked out! I already paid for the donair, but did not want to deal with her anymore. I called the store and told her who I was and I demanded to speak to the owner or manager, she took my number and told me they would call in the afternoon, I Have yet to hear back from them. I guess that is how they handle a customer that has supported that store since it opened, and more importantly all through Covid when the world shut down! I hope they enjoy my $14 I donated yesterday, it will be the last purchase I do there seeing as how they can't even call me to apologize for the horrible...

On the evening of Jan 10/25 we ordered a $15.00 medium donair thin crust pizza with black olives and green peppers. The pizza was edible, however, the toppings were next to nothing. To make matters worse, the pizza was over-cooked and the cheeze was almost burnt.

I called and mentioned this to the original lady who took our order. She was apologetic, however, she took me by surprise saying upper management had instructed them to use less topping because of their rising costs.

Customers should not have to experience this sort thing. The lady might have at least asked how they could make it better. We wern't looking for a free pizza but a future discount might have brought us back.

A few days before this, we ordered 2 medium donairs, and because they were okay, I'm leaving 3 stars. We've orered pizza last summer from Cosmic and it was satisfactory, but now, we won't be ordering anymore pizzas.

I should have taken a photo first but one should never have to expect this from take-out food. Having said that, I recommend all customers take photos of their orders from Cosmic Pizza & Donair. NOTE: We often buy $3.00 Presidents Choice medium pizzas from Shoppers Drug Mart. I bring it home and doctor it up a bit and believe me, it tastes better than any pizza from Cosmic Pizza & Donair.

I strongly suggest that they clean up the lobby a bit; wipe down the cooler doors, the counters, walls and main entrance door. It looks a little...

We ordered online, easy peasy, then went to go pickup our pepperoni, mushroom and tomato 12" pizza plus garlic cheesy bread.

It's a small place, which is just fine, no room to dine-in, kitchen's in the back and place was actually very busy for 11:00PM. That is a great, great sign. Lots of foot traffic for a Saturday night means returning customers. I stated who the order was for and tapped for payment, I unfortunately forgot that I tipped online beforehand, but that's my fault.

The place was very clean. They also had hand sanitizers available for customers. Always look at the floors of where you are eating/picking up food, that's a sure sign way of gauging the place's cleanliness.

Customer service was great. There were three women working tonight. The youngest one paid no attention to me, but the other two were all smiles. How nice!

The food was excellent. It's just SIMPLE, which I enjoy. Good amount of toppings, sauce and cheese. Plus the crust was crispy, but not burnt. Nor was there a burnt taste, from an unclean salamander, or rotary pizza oven. Plus, there was a great cheese pull when doling out the slices.

The pickup prices were very well worth it. Go for a quick drive instead of wasting money with a delivery app. From ordering to pickup, 20 minutes. Which is stellar for a busy night.
