McLeod River Brewing Company — Local services in Edson

Stopped in on a road trip on Thursday afternoon. My partner and I each got a flight of beer. They were all excellent, especially the Blood Orange Sour which ended up being one of my favourite sours that I’ve tried. I ordered the caramelized onion smashburger and the pretzel bites, my partner ordered the weekly specials- dill pickle soup and street corn poutine. Without exception the food was fantastic. My partner’s eyes were glowing as she had the pickle soup! The smashburger’s garlic sauce was incredible and balanced the heaviness of the meat perfectly. Stopped in for dinner and a beer flight on our way back from Jasper. Best chicken burger I’ve had in quite a while. Just tasted like better ingredients than average. The bun, the bacon, the chicken itself. I dunno if it was just in my head because I was so hungry or if they do have a better source. The beer was also delicious. I go to a lot of breweries and in terms of the actual taste of the beer this is one of my favourite ones in the province. My only complaint about this place is that it’s not in Edmonton and I can’t go there more often. This will be my new regular rest stop on all my mountain trips to Jasper. Oh and the hours are great! A lot of breweries have way too limited hours...

So happy to finally have an awesome brewpub in town! No more driving an hour to Folding Mountain to get some good beer and food!

Great selection of beer with a solid foundational line up of easy drinkers (Lager, Wheat, Blond) with some more seasonal fun beers to try with a Hazy IPA, a Key Lime Gose, and a Mango Habanero beer that is absolutely wild and will knock your socks off!

Had the crispy buffalo chicken burger with fries which comes with a huge tender piece of chicken but the dill coleslaw is the secret weapon that brings this to the next level. So good!

Service was great! Atmosphere and decor are nice! Planning on having this be our new go to place for visiting...
