We opted to stop here before continuing our journey to Edmonton and it was well worth the visit! We were greeted by Mariam who was very kind and shared the story of how the museum came to be in the possession of a Grand Trunk Railway safe. We got to see the old railway station and learn about the growth of railway, timber and coal towns in the area. The exhibits are smaller in nature but give a lot of great information and there was quite a few interactive elements - we particularly enjoyed the telegraph station! They also have an extensive taxidermy collection of local wildlife. There is a lovely seating area where you can enjoy a packed lunch or take a short walk in the neighbouring Centennial park where you can see Eddie the squirrel, RCAF airplane and a railway car.
