Hello,
We attended the movies last night and it nearly cost us $100 to attend to see the new Captain America (3D).
We had vouchers to use which gave us;
1 adult admission 1 regular drink 1 regular popcorn
My husband wanted to upgrade to the Captian America Cup x 2. Plus he ordered a Large Popcorn tin, which apparently came with a large popcorn. The popcorn did have butter.
By the time the girl sales associate who was ringing it in scanned my scene card, and took the two vouchers, which includes the admission minus the $3 for 3D, and the regular popcorns, and the drinks, it cost us over $98.00, which we then used a $25 gift card from cineplex company towards the purchase.
Please advise how this happened as once I added everything up, as well, it did not seem right. Both young workers at the counter were struggling at the counter, with no assistance.
If this is correct, I will no longer be attending the local cinema as these prices are atrocious even when you use a movie voucher purchased at Costco, as gifts and a gift card, and still had to pay $98.00...
Read moreThis location is generally clean and the staff are friendly and do a great job. However, it is barebones in pretty much every possible way. The lobby has a couple of the expected arcade machines, and there is beer and extremely overpriced Dippin' Dots knockoffs. But aside from that, this location is pretty minimal. That being said, it's functional and there's nothing really wrong with sticking to the basics.
My main issue with this theatre is how barebones the movie selection is. I can understand the limited playtimes, given staffing and attendance issues. However, this theatre only ever gets the safest possible releases. Never anything indie or local, never anything weirder than the latest big-budget blockbuster or trendy horror movie. Hardly any event showings. It's really frustrating, since most of the local theatres in the region have died.
I love going to the movies, but I don't want to drive thirty minutes to watch some Marvel movie I don't care about. Please bring some variety to...
Read moreIt's the only theater in the area. For the first long weekend of the summer maybe have more then 2 people at the concession stand. The lineup was out the door. We thought it was the line for tickets. No staff to direct people. No signs. A couple of us started to ask other patrons what the line was for. Some of them were needing tickets, others needing popcorn and some thought it was a line to get in. Thank Buddha I'm tall was able to see that the line was for snacks. Two ticket kiosks and one of them was out of service and the other was being used by 2 people who I think were trying to check their email or do some online banking but clearly they were taking far too long to buy 2 tickets. Again, no staff around to help. So I whipped out my phone and bought the tickets via the mobile app. We only missed a couple of previews but had no popcorn. If movie theaters make 90% of their income at the concession stand you think they would put more people there to get as many sales...
