Deeply Disappointed – Shameful Treatment of Young Customers
I’m absolutely appalled at what just happened to my daughter and her two friends at the Tim Hortons in Owen Sound — an experience no parent should ever have to hear about.
While simply sitting at a table, minding their own business, a senior male customer suddenly approached them and accused them of “damaging the furniture” — without pointing to anything specific. My daughter was understandably confused and shocked because neither she nor her friends had done anything wrong. There was no noise, no disrespect, no roughhousing — just three kids sitting and talking.
And what happened next made it even worse. Only a few minutes later, a Tim Hortons employee walked up to them and bluntly said, “You guys gotta get out!” No explanation. No discussion. Just a rude dismissal, as if they were criminals. He repeated it again, and my daughter and her friends, shocked and embarrassed, simply said “okay” and left.
This is not just unacceptable — it’s disgraceful.
First, for another customer to make baseless accusations toward young people just sitting quietly is bad enough. But for an employee to follow that up by kicking them out without even asking what happened, or bothering to get the full story? That tells me everything I need to know about how this location treats younger patrons.
Is this the kind of culture Tim Hortons supports? Where teens can’t even sit and enjoy a drink or snack without being harassed and ejected for no valid reason? What kind of message are we sending to our kids — that they’ll be judged unfairly and won’t even be given a voice?
As a parent, I’m deeply hurt and beyond disappointed. My daughter came home feeling confused, humiliated, and wrongfully treated. And frankly, I don’t blame her.

I ordered 4 small French Vanillas and a 1/2 Double Double + 1/2 French Vanilla mix — and what did I get? HOT WATER. Not once, BUT TWICE, even after lodging a complaint the first time!!
The machine clearly needed a refill, but the staff didn’t even bother to check or change the powder. Total negligence!
The attitude of the staff was disgusting — completely unprofessional, rude, and totally unbothered about customer service. It felt like we were disturbing them by just placing an order.
The place seriously needs better management and training. ☕❌💦
