I’m a paraplegic single mother who contacted Waterside Pools and Spas in the Winter of 2024 to be put on a list to have my pool opened. I had advised them my liner had slipped over the winter and repairs may have been needed. I was told I’d be taken care of in May as I was anxious to have the pool up and going for my kids. When I didn’t hear anything from the company in the Spring, I contacted them. I was told by Waterside I would need to pay $2000 before anyone would come and look at it. I felt this was sketchy and even told them I did not feel comfortable doing this, but was advised based on some other instances of money not being paid for services (not me), this was the new policy and it was almost June and I was panicked to get the pool up for 2 birthday parties. I began to feel panicked when I started feeling ghosted by the company. (No calls for apt time, no receipt for money provided, no answering the phone or returning messages). Finally after a hasty request I did get the receipt for the $2000 I provided them, but kept getting pushed and pushed out of apt times. Finally Late June, I was advised they would be coming to open the pool. A couple of guys showed up and spent approximately 30 minutes at my residence. I had to again call Waterside to find out if the pool was ready to go and was given the thumbs up by the company to call the fire dept to get the water for the pool, which I did. I had a fire dept member from my neighborhood start putting the water in the pool at $80/load. Before the forth load could be emptied in, the liner had gone exactly back to where it started. I called Waterside right away and spoke with the lady who said they’d be over tomorrow. Three days later I finally got through to her again. She advised me they popped in and looked at the pool and it was in horrible shape, not fixable, and it was out over a half a foot in level. She had a quote for me to replace my pool for $12,000 but they’d take that $2000 I already paid them off the price for the new pool. It just didn’t feel right because she advised if I decided not to get a new pool, they’d refund me $1000. I decided to get a second opinion. I requested a receipt of work done that cost $1000 from Waterside Pools which was ignored. I contacted The Pool Shack on Kings Rd. The owner came up and looked over the pool. He advised me the pool was not unlevel and needed a liner, but otherwise was completely repairable. He came with his amazing team and replaced my liner for $1000.Completely fixed my pool. I contacted Waterside Pools and Spas and requested them to have the owner Paul Nardocchio to contact me ASAP so I could explain this situation to him (I still had hope they would make this right for the sake of having to even make this review and take this to Small Claims Court). I did not get a call back from Mr. Nardocchio nor anyone on behalf of Waterside Pools and Spas Ltd. to discuss this situation. I contacted one last time the first week of July and explained who I was and I had been expecting some communication regarding this obvious attempt at a scam to a single disabled mom. I believe they just didn’t think I’d get the second opinion and that I’d just pay the $12,000 for the pool replacement. The man I did speak to was so smug and rude to me. When I had advised I had been waiting for Paul Nardocchio to call me back, he laughed and told me he was in sales meetings all week. I’m sure he is aware of my situation. When I mentioned “what do I have to do to get my money back? Am I going to have to take this to Small Claims Court”? The man on the other end laughed at me and told me “You do what you have to do” and I was hung up on.I’m pretty upset that Waterside Pools and Spas still have my $2000, and they lied to me and expected me to pay for a new pool that I did not need. I’m so grateful to THE POOL SHACK for being honest and fixing my pool. To ANYONE considering dealing with this company, do so with caution, as this was my nightmare experience. I knew it felt shady, and I will get my money back...
Read moreI can't say enough about Paul and the staff at Waterside Pools. We have been working with Paul since he installed our pool in 2005 and have always had the best service. When it came time to get a hot tub, Waterside was our obvious choice. They were always good to communicate on the status of our hot tub while we were waiting for it to come in. When it arrived, the team came and set it up very quickly and efficiently and their instructions on how to use and maintain it were clear. They are always a phone call or message away when I have a question. I would highly...
