We had a wonderful time at our Wharf front cabin, we were aware that our front porch was on the wharf which is less private but absolutely gorgeous with propane firepit to enjoy once it gets dark. Our back door was situated right by the beach access just a little scramble down some rocks which we definitely made use of as we had our doggy with us. Though we had an amazing time and really enjoyed our stay a few things would have made it better; We read we would have a kitchenette and brought breakfast foods so we could manage our budget better and not eat out for every meal. There was no hot plate so we were not able to cook anything. We would have happily brought a camp stove, alas it should be more clear that no pans pots or hot plate is included. It does dtate that they wonât clean pans or cups without a $75 fee on the sink yet no pans in sight?? The price of the unit and the description had me thinking we would be able to cook. The fridge ended up freezing a lot of the food we brought and so it was wasted, be mindful not to use the top shelf for things that will be ruined after being frozen. We managed to cart all of our eggs back home :P So just to note better It is not a complete kitchenette, or just throw in a little hot plate and pan. Additionally if youâre going to list coffee bags we should have all the coffee we were missing one caffeinated back I would have liked to try.
We understood upon arrival and the âneed to know infoâ that there is no house cleaning during your stay. This is totally fine, but because weâre on the beach you should really supply us with a broom at least. We were tip toeing on a a sandy floor and finally asked for a broom once spotting an elusive worker haha, they were super kind and brought us one.
There isnât a ton of privacy which we knew, but because when the blinds and door is open to folks walking by and seeing all I think you should supply your guests with two plush robes. It may seem small, but itâs a really nice touch for folks not only to feel cozy, but more concealed. Since your changing in and out of bathing suites and putting ons unscreen and just generally wandering around half undressed while people can see you, investing in an embroidered robe with your logo goes a LONG way for us to enjoy open windows and still feel a but more private. Especially as the only room you can tuck away is the washroom.
Those improvements would have made it 5 stars! Loved the stay and LOVE that your dog friendly, thank you so much for...
Read moreWe stayed in the Warfside King Suite with Soaker Tubs and had an overall really romantic and enjoyable experience with few issues. Here are our likes and dislikes:
Likes: -Amazing water pressure in the shower and it can get HOT -Normal (drip) Coffee Maker, Kettle, and pretty big mini-fridge. We brought our own coffee and some ramen and oatmeal to make in the room one day with the kettle :D -The internet is plenty good enough for streaming and they have a Roku TV in there so you can watch all your own streaming services -The back area with the soaking tubs is completely secluded and private -The little firepit was AWESOME and directly hooked up to a gas line so you don't have to worry about it running out of propane. We enjoyed coffee by the firepit every morning. -The electric fireplace warms the room up pretty quick and has a nice ambiance. -TONS of storage for your clothes and things. Plenty of hangers. -Customer Service was great. We find Canadians to be so nice compared to where we come from so they make us feel special. -Blackout Curtains, which is a must in the Summer up here. -Outlets everywhere you could possibly need them, and easily accessible. -WE SAW KINGFISHERS! Like 5 of them! And two crows bullying a bald eagle. And a river otter. -IMPORTANT: They have a generator for when the power goes out. A big one :)
Dislikes/Could Improve: -Subjective, but the bed was a little too firm for our liking. -People walking up and down the "wharf" (dock). We went during a beautiful summer weekend so it was especially bad and in the Wharfside Suite they all walk right past your windows. There's also a map right by the door to that suite so you get to listen to them point at and talk about the map. -The sliding glass door and some of the windows don't have screens on them, including the one in the W/C (toilet room) so we had some six-legged friends stay over. -The curtain shades have these plastic guards on them, presumably to stop people from breaking them, but it was a little irritating to raise and lower them. Kinda hurt my fingertips. -The TV doesn't pull out or angle and it's pretty high up (above the fireplace), so unless you're tall and have skinny arms you're probably not getting to those HDMI ports for your downloaded content. But as I said, streaming + their Internet should be good enough for your visit.
We'll probably be back but I think we're going to try out their new Dome rooms because those are not on the wharf and will be...
Read moreWe stayed in the Seaside Viewpoint studio and it was absolutely beautiful. An incredible suite. The view was beautiful, the room was clean, and the shower was AMAZING. It was so nice to have a hot tub and the outdoor fireplace was great too. I really appreciated the mini kitchenette. It wouldâve been great to have a hot plate or toaster oven as we both have a ton of food allergies and eating out is difficult, but the mirocwave and toaster helped a ton.
A few minor complaints - I canât believe for the price we paid that we had to take out our own garbage, recycling, and compost.
The hot tub is not really all that private. You will easily be seen by the other seaside viewpoint hot tub, as well as the neighbours on the other side if theyâre out on the deck.
Also, people bring their kids here and let them run free. We were sitting in our suite watching the ocean when two children climbed over their fence and onto our deck. They saw us through the window and ran away back to their rental. I know this isnât the resorts fault, but I likely wouldnât come back knowing this is the type of thing that can happen. I did see a few other reviews of people having issues with children at the resort as well.
We also had some confusion with what the check in time was. One email said 3pm, and one said 4pm. We did get an email shortly after 3pm saying our...
