Coastal Kitchen Cafe — Restaurant in Juan de Fuca Electoral Area

The cafe it's self is lovely. However our groups experience with the barista was beyond atrocious. Our party of 6 had finished a beautiful hike and lunch and stopped to grab hot beverages for our trip home. The gentleman that took our orders was pleasant but the batista was down right rude. He aggressvely placed our drinks down, sometimes stating what it was, other times not. When a drink was put out and it was mentioned that the order wasn't correct, it went from bad to absolutely worse. The male batista began to argue. Making statements about the alternative milk having not been paid for. My friend apologized adding that it must have been missed. After several minutes the batista said he'd make another. My friend thanked him and reiterated her order, twice. The batista was clearly agitated, threw and empty beverage container towards a recycling container cursing under his breath. He remade the drink and when my friend reiterated her drink order to confirm it was correct he barked at her that he'd already told her the alternate milk was not paid for and angrily put the syrup flavor in that had also apparently not be paid. Watching all of this had me wondering why I had given a generous tip and the beginning of the interaction when this was the service we were receiving. Never again. The pizza is amazing but the staff definitely get all our stars in this review. We came through here yesterday as we moved to Langford a month ago. unbeknownst us this is a rural area. Cell service is sketchy and there's only one gas station. We rolled into town with 3 kids with the gas light on and no open gas stations within the approximate vicinity as per the clerk working. My panicking on the inside must have shown on my face and just as my husband and I had ordered our food and were think what in the heck are going to do, the lady at the till rolled up with a Jerry can with some gas and a very short time later another gentleman also arrived to help us with some gas, I'm not sure if he was a local or an employee but I absolutely recommend stopping by this place. Reasonably good food, rude staff, a man seated at the smoking table was very drunk, publicly urinated in full view of myself and a small child, yet staff continued to serve him, I guess this is a result of the BC Governments recent changes to liquor laws, restaurants are suddenly bars where you can expect to encounter drunks. The smoking table was so close to me I could read the label on a mans cigarillo. When I put my experience on facebook, the owner was incredibly rude, said I was shameful for complaining and made excuses for the locals and blamed it on a lack of washrooms and said the bushes he urinated on weren`t on their property!
