Its not just the only pub in town, its the best pub. It has that classic, old timey Wild West feel that many bars attempt. The only spot in hundreds of miles that isnt faking it, as soon as you step inside you know it's the real deal. Back in the old days, during the hotel's formative years, dudes sitting at their barstools would pull 6 shooters on each other during arguments. Straight out of an Old Western movie if you ask me. Many decades ago a man was even shot during service and laid to bleed out on the sawdust floor. That was just how they did things back then!

But these days, things are different. They have a new, sturdy wooden floor and none of the patrons or staff carry firearms. Bryan, Brad, Kerry, Tana, Kamryn, Raffi, Louis, Pedro (and of course Mitch who holds down the fort) along with the rest of staff, will take care of you in a way that ushers the fresh coastal air with them right to your table. That old time feel is still there, but with a familiar feeling of comfort, safety and warmth during a likely torrential downpour. It feels like youve been here before. Likely with a .357 Smith & Wesson at your hip and ready for action!

Lovely modern wooden decor. New flooring, ocean views, and a superb poutine with gravy made in-house daily. There is also a pool table where im sure a few gentleman had to duke it out after a match or even go out back for a classic dual to the death! What a time it must have been in those days.

Fantastic food. Great tunes at a reasonable volume and they often have hockey or baseball playing to watch as you sit back and enjoy your delicious meal and several beverages. They really have come a long way since the horse drawn buggy days when your life was at stake and anything could happen! Hunker down for the evening and get the chowder or chicken dinner. You never know what the wild and lawless evening holds, but tonight you'll be safe and sound in a pub like...

2023: This time round, I found the all the staff great and really enjoyed the food! Thank you.

2019: Back in August, we ended up here after my hiking partner had been evac’d off the WCT and a life long dream disrupted.

It was extremely busy when we got there on the Tuesday evening. The man who met us at the door looked us with disapproval and swiftly told us to put our packs out on the porch. We may have looked rough, but we were well-mannered and had cash and plastic.

We asked about accommodations and were curtly told there were none to be had. Didn’t look though, so I guess he just knew. We decided to wait for a table and at least have a good dinner while we figured out if the campsite had room and contact loved ones.

We asked the man if they could call us a cab, apparently there weren’t any. We asked if they could call our campground for us ( no cell service and low battery), but they didn’t have their number. We had to find it and then they would let us use their phone.

I grew up in two isolated B.C. villages both a little larger than Port Renfrew. And I can assure you there is no way they don’t have local numbers to the 5 or 6 key business in the area. This was plain obstinate rudeness.

Our actual waitress was very considerate. She helped me select a meal to go, because it turned out the camp office was closing and they were coming to get us. If it wasn’t for her, I would have given this experience a 1.

Regardless of the man, I really do wish that I could have lingered with the locals and strolled on what looked to be a...

Loved the food and location. We visited the evening of July 11th. Unfortunately had an incident with the "assistant manager" Jonah. We were told by Jonah we had to order takeout due to there being no tables available at 730pm. We put our order in and waited on the street with multiple other patrons(who had to do the same) for our food until 810pm when a waitress then came out and told us and a few other guests that we could sit at a table inside and wait for our food due to it being cold, with bugs and the wait being long. We then asked her if we could order drinks and eat our takeout food inside once it came and she told us ofcourse we could. Our food didn't come until 830pm.. As my friend and I were finishing up our take out food in the take out containers at the table, Jonah came up to us to inform us that this was not allowed at all and it won't be happening again. I told him one of the waitresses gave us the ok. And he continued to go on how he was there and this wasn't said. He in fact wasn't there for this conversation. He demanded to know which waitress allowed this. We couldn't remember her name. We asked for the manager and he said he was the manager. I've never been spoken to like this by a restaurant manager. It was so unacceptable. Other patrons complained to the waitresses about his behavior as well. If anything he should have been happy with the extra money we spent on drinks while we waited so long for our food. This was so unacceptable. I've visited this restaurant many times and have never had an...

Myself , My Spouse and our special needs 7 yr old son where staying nearby for a few days at a cabin rental for a lil mini-vacation :) Travelling can be challenging with our sons high support needs . We called the Renfrew Pub Restaurant Ahead of time to discuss with staff our hope to enjoy a dinner from there establishment on our last evening in Port Renfrew and the staff helped us come up with a plan for how to best accommodate our sons needs and enjoy a delicious meal . We Enjoyed the seafood pasta with seafood chowder and sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice-cream :) The Fresh Local Seafood was amazing and the desert melt in your mouth . We usually don't bother trying to eat restaurant food as its just to hard to accommodate our son and not disturb other patrons but the staff graciously accommodated us and made us and our son feel welcome . I would 100% recommend the Port Renfrew Pub Restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty west coast inspired meal and especially to special needs families needing a little bit of extra support to enjoy their dining experience 😍

A tale of two nights! Night one, got seated close to right away, despite part of the place being closed off for seating. Was lucky enough to be waited upon by a friendly and efficient young Australian lady. Made me, as a solo traveler, feel welcome. And she did her job well. Had the seafood chowder and ROCKfish and chips, and it was one of the best meals I had on vacation. Night two I likewise was seated quickly, but had a waiter who clearly seemed like he didn't want to be there, and just went through the motions. Didn't ask about whether I wanted my meal separate of the chowder, and sure enough they came out together. I also asked his opinion of two main options when ordering, and he steered me to the prime beef Philly cheesesteak. I found the roasted garlic mayo to be too garlicky, and I like garlic a lot! First night I was inspired to stay for 3 beers (place has a strong B.C. craft beer menu), while the second I only cared to stay for one. Pretty emblematic of how the quality and attitude of service can impact a dining and drinking experience.
