-------------((((REVISED REVIEW))))--------------
After having my review addressed by the new owner i accepted their invitation and visited their new store.
To confirm their hours and ask various comic related questions, i called ahead. I was informed that the comic section "was unorganized but i was still able to browse their inventory."
Upon arrival i counted 4 people working, with an additional person painting a mural in the stairway. That is quite a large number of staff working on a weekend afternoon compared to other comic and gaming stores of similar size. For example, i know of numerous "Game Workshop" stores that operate with a staff of two. Or stores like Gotham Central and Comic Warehouse in Brampton that operate with a staff of three.
Their comic back issues are all in longboxes located in a wall unit that runs the width of the store. It's an impressive layout when accompanied by numerous large tables that allow you a space to dig for books.
I immediately found a run of books I was looking for and began pulling the items out. Unfortunately none of the books had prices on them.
When I asked one of the associates behind the counter the cost of various back issues i was instructed to just bring them up and they would price them accordingly. I initially brought 3 books to the counter but had the intention of continuing to add to the pile. I had set aside an additional 20 books to purchase and brought them to counter when i was then informed "the comic guy isnt here today and we cant continue to price the books because we cant afford to take someone off the floor. These are the last books we will price for you today. Anything else can be put aside and we can call you when we get them priced on Wednesday."
I was taken back by the response seeing as i had called ahead and inquired specifically about comic BACK ISSUES and drove 1 hour to get to this store, so i went along with their demands.
Begrudgingly the associate went to the back room to price the books. It took him 8 minutes to price 20 books. 8 minutes for $140 worth of books and i was made to feel like i was inconveniencing these people for helping me, a customer.
When it was all said and done I gave them another 30 books to price. That would have "tied" the associate up for maybe another 12 minutes? 20-22 minutes in total to help a customer spend upwards of 300$ is not an extraordinary task. Especially when the commodity is comics.
As of a week later I have yet to receive the call informing me the books are priced and waiting for me.
As I was leaving I noticed the two associates i had dealt with were helping one person find a magic card.
My request of obtaining prices for items I was purchasing was a strain on their workforce but having two associates helping one customer with Magic MtG cards was seen as acceptable is quite telling of their customer service.
Perhaps more training for the staff would remedy the situation but i doubt this is a training issue and more of a "couldn't be bothered to work" issue.
Its quite unfortunate as i like supporting local businesses but to be treated in such a manner by this store's staff has me second guessing that notion.
Old review Poorly organized recent issues. Home of the ridiculous recent issues section in which comics are organized by publisher and then by week of release. So that Batman issue you were looking for??? No, It's not with the rest of the Batman books. It's located in the 3 weeks ago section. And the latest issue? That's in...

Jay, if this review doesn’t concern your store I’m not sure why you keep responding. I think perhaps you should respond to all the positive feedback before you bought the store and let them know that them know there has been an ownership change and that their review may no longer be relevant as well. Otherwise you are just being dishonest.
It’s quite humorous how similar you and the previous owner are.
I recognize that you struggle with reading comprehension but as mentioned the initial review was left on eBay. The previous owner had it inappropriately deleted so I turned here.
You can’t honestly tell me that the prior owners eBay store was a completely separate operation from his brick and mortar store. Could you buy singles advertised in eBay in the brick and mortar store? Did he store his inventory at the brick and mortar store? Did he ever talk to clients about his eBay store in the brick and mortar store? Did his eBay benefit from the “goodwill” established by the brick and mortar store? Did he have a separate business number for his eBay store? Did he advertise items that were for sale on his eBay store? The attached picture confirms they were one and the same.
It’s honestly pretty funny how riled up both you and the previous owner have gotten over a $5 transaction.
Original Review:
Bought a card from this company via their online marketplace on ebay. A month and a half later it never arrived. I was refunded but also subsequently banned from bidding on future items. I have purchased from this seller before without issue so I was a little offended that they assumed I cheated them out of a card that cost less than 5 dollars. When I called them out on this poor policy on their ebay feedback page they proceeded to remove the feedback censoring my opinion. Very poor policy, this was a very disappointing experience altogether over again what was simply a card that cost less than $5.
EDIT:
It is not the dollar amount of the card, it is simply a matter of principle. I didn't receive a card I paid for and it was insinuated that I am ripping you off for $5. Sorry you can't handle criticism regarding your policies and need to resort to personal attacks. I felt wronged in this interaction and you really didn't seem to care. All I would have liked was to be unblocked from future bidding and that was simply it. But I do not want any association now with a company that treats it customers this poorly and resorts to petty insults. No anger from my end, just dissatisfaction that clearly is not a concern to you and your company.
Follow up to the new owner:
I have no grievance with you, Jay.
Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with the prior owner and left this review in response to him getting my eBay feedback deleted. The name of his online eBay page is literally comic connection and to the average consumer would be one and the same with that of the brick and mortar store.
The review was as relevant as all other reviews at the time you purchased...
Read moreComic Connection is a great store and the centre of the local community in this area for cards and comics.
Morpheus is the man, always deal with him to trade in cards and it’s the best experience, reason why I always go here rather than anywhere else. Probably the most invested expert in Pokémon at any hobbyist store I’ve been to and knows literally everything you’d ever need to ask. Super cool, friendly, eye always out for the best products. As the store expands I am super hopeful the Pokémon counter will as well. Now that ETB has bought out Rich I’m thinking there will be more sealed Pokémon products too which is what I’m excited about. Old Pokémon packs might cost $20, $30 but I really hope Comic can start carrying them.
Niko is really friendly and been there ages for Magic. I don’t play or buy it but he’s always friendly and chats with everyone on any topic when you’re browsing.
Rob is great, always greets everyone coming in, knows everything for dates, anything about the store, when to come in for trades, Pokémon, magic, even though he’s more of a comics guy. He’s really helped me to never forget my wallet ever again! Banters with everyone once you get to know the place. Really makes the whole store feel like your home base for hobbyist stuff.
The new guys are great, I haven’t gotten their names yet but they’re all very friendly. The guy who does manga always comes up to ask folks if they need help. Manga is a cool thing to expand into, makes sense, Comic had a much smaller collection in terms of total comic space but it’ll be cool to see some real manga stuff in there you won’t find at chapters, hardcovers, etc.
Been going here for years, as a kid at the old location, now at the current, and will continue as they move again to the new spot! The new owner Jay seems to love the community and want to expand the store across the board. I’m super excited for the new location. Their pricing system is new and updates a lot, and is usually cheaper than every single store. I mean across the board, find anything at any store and it’ll be minimum 50 cents cheaper here. Don’t see any reason to not just come here and grab it and save the shipping too.
Long review over, but Comic Connection has always been my home base, and probably always will be. Everyone here is great, super friendly, the store is locally owned small business with prices that rival and beat big box stores, and the atmosphere is great no matter if you’re a hardcore expert or just looking to grab something for your kid. If you read this review looking to find comics/cards/DND/events/etc, don’t second guess yourself, go check out the store. I absolutely...
