First off the staff at the Oakville location are all so friendly and amazing! They r extremely helpful and went above and beyond to assist us..this happens every visit we make there! Secondary to the fantastic customer service..the quality of our finds are unbelievable! We always do so well..even finding treasures that are brand new..never worn..or maybe even gently used! U can't beat the prices especially for books and children's clothing! Once a month I make a special trip to the Oakville store to pick up different outfits for two young girls from a single income household..and I spoil them! It's something that really makes a difference in their quality of life and at the same time..makes me feel like I'm helping make a difference in their lives! My daughter also visits on a regular basis..being a student..she really needed the extra 10 percent off u used to give..because she's recovering from a serious car accident and she finds items to repurpose by doing crafts..which is so very important to her recovery and it's very therapeutic! I always pick up at least 10 novels..and when I'm done..I donate them to the hospital and to the women's shelters! Nothing ever goes to waste! Keep up the great work..love the team atmosphere!...
Read moreI had a horrible experience dropping of donations on Saturday, May 8, 2021. I arrived with my daughter and noticed there was a couple standing there. I asked if there was a line, they said no go ahead. I proceeded to put my donations in the bin when an employee came out and angrily said you have to wait for a bin and I'm going as fast as I can. I had put some of the larger heavy items next to the bin to which he got really angry and said you can't place items there! So I dragged all my heavy items back to my car and waited for a bin. When a new bin was brought out, I proceeded to put my items in it. The bin was only half full and I was carrying more to it and they took the bin away. I had to return to my vehicle again and wait for a new bin, in the rain mind you. I had a child's ride on, he yelled at me again that the item was too big and could not accept it. Perhaps there were procedures I was not aware of and I did not notice any signage explaining. Does this warrant being treated like this? Last I checked, I thought donating was a good thing :( I will never return to donate at...
Read moreI’ll start this by saying I use to work here and I loved it, the staff AT THE TIME were lovely, and the lay out use to make sense. But now as a shopper I’m miserable. They got rid of plus size all together making it feel WAY less inclusive. The biggest annoyance of late, Christmas in July. The second I walked in I was so miserable but the person I was with was looking for something particular so we couldn’t just leave, me and a few other costumers even spoke about how it did the exact opposite of what I assume they thought it would achieve. I’m giving a two stars because there are staff there that still do a great job and it’s still a thrift store that I appreciate and like I said I worked there so it’s almost a second home for me but at the end of the day the changes that have been made show growing pains. Kudos for bringing back a better shoe system though very happy it’s no longer only on top of the clothing, do that for wares again, shoppers hate it and so do staff.
All together better organization would be...
