Kosher City (or as my late father z"l used to call it, "Jimmy's") is an all-Kosher grocery store and I would add, community hub. Everything #dairy, fresh produce and commercially prepared salads, some frozen fish and Challah etc. and a very limited meat section (think cold cuts and pickled corned beef for the Shabbos crock-pot,) Mishpacha magazines etc. and snacks galore. Friendly service and they take orders for next day delivery - it was free over $50 but I'm not sure now. On the down side, you'll pay a little extra for the convenience of skipping supermarket lines and not all prices are marked. Fleishik stores across the street. The best part is their in-house baked goods made by Randy and now with the addition of Isaac's Bakery since its bakery closed to the public. Recent addition: yummy pareve buttertarts, and her scones are scrumptious! If you want to feel that Erev Shabbat or holiday vibe, this is the place to go. I was looking for Pita and perhaps to see whether they have some things from back home.
I'm not sure why the place was in my eyes it looked a bit empty the variety was lacking.
The bakery side was just about empty.
I honestly am disappointed I am not ever going to go back. I went out of my way coming from Etobicoke all the way there to be disappointed. No thank you.
To begin with its was a chore to find the door to get it, I had to ask someone.

Read moreWent to get fresh bread and great quality. The only thing is too many shopping carts in way and staff shouldn't allow this as hard for shoppers like me to move in aisles and grab my food. Cashier the blonde one a bit roudy not so professional a bit of a busy body .....the other cashier very sweet and you can see she cares about customer service. The prices in the deli meat expensive for packages so worth going across the street fresh cuts of deli meat and save money. Baked goods were limited for a Friday ..disappointed as was there early!!
