When you walk inside you notice right away a weird vibe , restaurant was noticeably dirty, floors full of dirt and peoples garbage all over the table. There was one customer sitting down when I entered so its not like there wasnt time to tidy the place. My wife and I ordered a shawarma dinner each came up to $42 with nothing to drink. They took awhile to prepare the food (Which I am not saying is a bad thing) While we were waiting the employees decided to creepily stare at my wife, me and her were coming straight from the gym so in gym type attire. We got food and left for take out since the awkward vibe and dirty setting wasnt worth dining in. Went to a park and opened the to go bag to find out they had not included forks and napkins. So we drove home to eat instead. The only reason I am giving this place a 2 star rather than a 1 is because the food quality was good, portion was fair (Not worth $42 by any means) and the bread was clearly fresh. They also did include numerous sauces such as hummus, garlic spread and other that I dont know the name of.
Overall I would avoid this place and take advantage of the many middle eastern restaurants in the dufferin and lawerence area. Also pay at least $5 less each meal and receive at par or better food and most defiantly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery busy, very big, very bland. Dr. Laffa came heavily recommended to me and I was excited at the possibility of ending the good Shawarma-like sandwich drought plaguing Toronto. Before I continue, yes, I know it is NOT Lebanese shawarma and I'm not judging it as such. Right away upon entering the establishment, I was already impressed by the amount of people excited to get their Laffa. The staff was friendly and quick to take orders and fulfill them. This would be my first Laffa but I was prepared for a soft delicious bread similar to naan and with that expectation, I was not disappointed. Unfortunately however that could not be said about the ingredients that made the rest of my sandwich. The chicken (I had the chicken shawarma) was very bland and the only hint of it's presence was the burnt pieces. Perhaps it was because I didn't include pickles but I couldn't really taste anything else. I thought it was a nice touch to add chips(fries) in the sandwich as I'd never tried that before but it wasn't enough to warrant trying it again. All this to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have no idea what happened to this place. Up until yesterday I would swear that Dr Laffa had the best laffa sandwich's ever!! Yesterday I had the worse laffa sandwich I've ever had... anywhere!!! Period!! There was an option to "chat" so I sent a message and of course nobody responded to me. It read...
Just wanted to let you know, I swear by Dr laffa and we go in all the time and also order for pick up. I just picked up 2 laffa sandwich's from the Bathurst location and it is the worst laffa we've ever had!! You would never be able to convince me this came from Dr Laffa if I hadn't picked it up myself. It is ice cold, even though I picked up soon after ordering. It's at least 30% smaller than it's ever been and the chicken is so hard and chewy that it's like it was made days ago and the bread is so chewy you can barely get through it. My wife opened hers and is just eating the inside. It's extremely disappointing. I don't understand what could have happened unless they changed ownership.
Highly do...
