I want to start off this review by saying the MA staff in Toronto were wonderful when we were in store - very kind and professional. My experience with the welding at the store was downright awful. My friend and I had appointments in August 2023 and got matching welded bracelets with a charm. After a bit my charm bent slightly but thought nothing of it. In October of 2023 (1.5 months later) my bracelet broke (after normal use). I contacted the company as I wouldn't be able to make it back to Toronto for a while and they said that was fine - to place the bracelet in a bag and to come in when I can. I then attended the Toronto store on June 30 to get my bracelet welded with a jump ring and was so happy to have it fixed. The very next morning my bracelet broke again, this time in 2 places (again, normal use). I contacted both head office and the Toronto location and was told they could do one of two things - either for me to come in and they would fix it again for a fee (unsure how as it was now broken in 3 separate places) or for me to pay another $44.95 to ship it to them and have them 'repair' and put a clasp on it and they would not refund me any amount as it was 'final sale'. I spent $230 on this bracelet to only have it last 1.5 months + a day. I understand the nature of the item but I don't understand how there were not exceptions especially in the case of a quality issue. I am disappointed that they are asking me to spend more money to get it fixed and that they are not honouring the quality that I've come to know from Melanie Auld. The solutions offered almost feel like a slap in the face to a long standing customer who spent good money on an item that is supposed to be "permanent". They definitely lost a longstanding customer with this...
Read moreSTAY AWAY FROM MELANIE AULD!! I came here in January to get a welded bracelet with my boyfriend for our our anniversary. I got the gold rolo chain and a heart puff charm.. the prices for the charms were not listed anywhere and no sales associate thought to mention that the tiny heart was $165 (more than the bracelet itself). I only found out about the absurd amount once the bracelet had been welded onto my wrist. I reluctantly paid for the bracelet and charm and went home feeling deceived.
Once I got home I realized the bracelet was welded incorrectly and took pictures and let them know. Unfortunately however, I live 3 hours away and was not able to go back that week to get it fixed. just TWO days later, I noticed the bracelet had fallen off of my wrist due to this incorrect welding. I contacted them and they told me they would refund me if I could mail them the bracelet. I have spent the last few months searching my house and digging through my vacuum after every time I use it and I was never able to find it.
That’s right, you heard me correctly, I paid over $320 to have a bracelet incorrectly welded on to me, and when it subsequently fell off, I was told that unless I could mail them the bracelet (which would be impossible to find), they couldn’t help me. Again, I paid over $300 for a service to be preformed wrong, and yet somehow I am the one to blame and there is no course of action for an issue that wasn’t even my fault.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM MELANIE AULD. save yourself the grief of flushing $300 down the toilet and go to...
Read moreI was so excited to surprise my sister with a permanent bracelet. We arrived early as I drove from an hour away and anticipated to shop more but after the first few minutes being there I wanted to walk out.
I had been gifted a necklace for christmas and unfortunately the colour on instagram did not look the same in person. I asked if it was possible to chose a different necklace as I was able to see the colour in person. The girl told me that I had missed the "exchange period and exchanges were only accepted until January 7th" I apologized as I explained that is not on the website or the receipt. She just stared at me blankly and said "that's the policy" Another associate went and got the manager and he said "Hey are you able to help, she is about to lose it." I was not "about to lose it." My sister and I were the ONLY people in the store. I did not change my tone of voice and was just disappointed that I would have cheap looking necklace I wouldn't wear.
The manager was very sweet and without hesitation she "made the exception" and put it on a store credit. Then for the appointment the same associate who stared at me was the one to weld our bracelets. I could feel she felt incredibly awkward as she did not make an effort to speak to us.
I am very disappointed as I did plan to get a few staple pieces but due to this experience I will not be returning to...
