I had an excellent time! I brought my Mom as my date and together we had a blast! The mystery of not knowing where you are going next tickled our adventurous spirits and getting dressed up was a whole other fun event even before we left the house! The whole evening was well executed from Anne-Marie greeting us at the big pink double-decker bus to the dance instructors giving us one-on-one lessons on the Charleston.

And not to mention the food.

We had a most inviting warm dashi broth ready for us upon our arrival on a cold night, how warming. The small and beautiful details in each dish were not lost on our senses. Next, an asian 5 spice roasted chicken with ginger scented rice and crispy shallot was clean, aromatic and nourishing. For dessert, a vanilla custard with pineapple cake meant my next course of dancing was a well chosen dish. Yum. The wine was delicious, the service elegant and amusing, the food exquisite, and the concept, devilishly fun. I will go to every Swallowtail Supper Tour I can, Bravo!! Chef Robin has been a huge inspiration and influence on my culinary style, I have taken her courses and went on a couple of foraging walks and loved them!

I have been wanting to attend one of her dinners for a while and I can't believe I wanted so long!

We went for her Outstanding in the Forest dinner this weekend and it was absolutely incredible!

The setting was beautiful, beside a stunning lake. The menu was out of this world! I couldn't answer the question about which dish was my favourite. Everything was unique, delicious and beautiful!

I loved the demo about the ingredients the dinner was made from and the fact that they were lovingly foraged by the research forest staff. I discovered a few ingredients I am very excited about, I will definitely try to find some and cook with them.

This was a gorgeous way to spend a weekend and meet new people. We will definitely try to attend more...

Please take my advice and do not purchase a ticket. We thought this would be fun. Reading previous reviews gave us the idea this was going to a little adventure in our backyard with dining and wine tasting in a secret venue. We went with another couple and dressed in the "suggested" speak easy era! - Yes we were prepared to join in the spirit of the event...

I cannot say this enough - Please take my advice and do not purchase a ticket.- save your money. The event did not produce how it was marketed! The menu was really pathetic. The wine tasting a little bit better but seriously over priced if you wanted to have a full glass!!
