Quick Trip Variety Store — Local services in Waterloo

Every time I go into that store when the owners are not working, I have the worst experience of my life!! The guy they have working there is probably the most rudest person I have encountered. Today he topped his rudeness!! Signs up for wearing face masks, social distance signage etc and not to mention the bylaw making face covering mandatory in public indoor places. 2 people come in behind me and not only are they not wearing a face covering they continue to stand in the entrance area so I can’t pass them. The guy working said nothing to them so I could pass safely, so absolutely no concern for those of us trying to stay safe and help others stay safe during this pandemic. So I ask them to move so I can leave and only the one guy moved(thank you) the lady just stood there like I hadn’t said a thing. So thinking maybe she doesn’t speak English I gestured with my hand to move aside. The guy working started screaming at me for being rude and followed me to my car. I have been going to this for double digit years now. The items are convenience priced - but if you need convenience... it is well worth it. Their dairy is not fresh - rancid and chunky and dated two weeks from the time of purchase. Within 5 minutes I was told I couldn't return or exchange my triple priced item and that is their policy and they are totally fine taking people's money for rancid and rotten foods. That is a direct quote. The milk producer disagrees, thank goodness. Buyer beware... I did not steal. I bought the cream. It was bad. I went for a new one. You took my money and gave me ROTTEN product. That is not ok. I asked to call the manager. This is a matter of public health. I did not go away quietly - I am not ashamed. I paid for cream that I could use. The company will credit you - but not enough... like what's the issue with taking back a product that was...

There are far better convince stores in the area with better pricing and overall cleanliness and organization of the inside stores and food aisles. It’s kind of a mess and you have to figure where to find what you’re looking for yourself. Cashier service is kind of unfriendly and doesn’t really help when asking them to help locate items.
