National Convention & Exhibition Center — Local services in Shanghai

There are a few things right, and so many things are wrong with this facility.

It is huge... to big. For trade shows that occupy the whole facility, it would take days to walk the entire show.

AC is sketchy... some halls are good done at bad. All connections between halls are hot and not air conditioned.

It is hard to get to and even harder to leave. It seems that almost always the traffic police and the convention center are not working together.

There are major freeways nearby but no direct access to the facility. Most times, you end up circling the building multiple times to find your way in.

In side the parking facility, they block entrances from parking to entering the show with no clear direction of how to get in.

Once inside, there are no signs telling you how to get back to your car. And most staff don't know either.

If you do find it, you're in the bowels of the facility.

If you're an exhibitor, you will love that there is no AC on build days. They charge extra to drive your truck in... the fact that you can drive a truck into the area where your booth is located is great. However, they seem to forget about where to stage the trucks when dropping off our pickup up.

They could have learned so much by liking at other fiberboard ventures and what they do well and what needs improvement... It seems that missed the boat in this one.

To top it off they built it in an area with nothing else around so everyone must leave at the end of the day which of course means you will block all but 1 metro entrance, didi and taxis are duck in the traffic of everyone leaving our circling, and most of the time the traffic police are blocking exits and other paths to get out... you can not stay in the area and have dinner or hit a bar.

All in all my least favorite...
