Bethshiva is an amazing guide, and also the sole owner operator of Calypso Adventures.

Our experience with her was customized to make the most of our time in La Fortuna. We booked her experience from ABNB Experiences and she was incredibly responsive and has great communication. We were able to customize our day with her to meet our needs.

When we arrived she was waiting with a welcoming smile and from there she took us on an excellent adventure on the trails around Volcan Arenal.

She has incredible timing and has the ability to avoid the crowds, which will increase your ability to see and photograph animals.

On the river, she is a goddess! We felt safe the entire time, and she was excellent at communicating what we needed to do. We saw so much wildlife on this very mellow river float!

I would highly recommend booking an adventure with her. Don't hesitate to reach out before booking as Bethsiva is very good at tailoring the best experience for your visit.

We did another trip with a larger company the next day, and I will say with confidence that our experience with Bethshiva and Calypso Adventures stands out from it in terms of personalization and flexibility.

My boyfriend and I had the best experience working with Beth. She took the time to get to know us, and suggested activities she knew we would love. There are so many things to choose from and she helped us narrow them down based on what we were looking for. Her honesty and patience with all of our questions showed her true professionalism and we ended up booking six activities with her. We checked out a few other adventure planners, but Beth had the lowest prices compared to anyone in town. She really gave us the best deals. She is reasonable and honest, and I was recommending her to people I’d meet in town. Her English is perfect and demeanor is calm and just an all-around cool person to get to know. She also had great suggestions about what to do in the town for fun at night. I like to know where the locals go, and she gladly shared some of the best secrets in town. She is located across the street from the Lava Lounge in the main center. You will not be disappointed. My husband and I had a wonderful time kayaking Lake Arenal with Jose this morning! Pick up was prompt at our hotel, and on the ride over he was a super safe driver. Along the way he told us what to expect and how long everything would take. When we got to the lake, he outfitted us with comfortable lifejackets and eased us into our kayak perfectly. As we paddled, Jose showed us many different types of birds while keeping an ideal pace. (His knowledge of wildlife is thorough and impressive.) He even sensed when we were slowing down a bit and steadily led us back to shore with perfect timing. Afterwards, we drove us back to our hotel while we chatted about life in Costa Rica. Even though it was a cloudy and sometimes rainy day, we had a wonderful time on this excursion with Jose. I can't think of a better way to explore the absolutely pristine place that is Lake...
