Badly Planned While I acknowledge that it is a big Mall by Cyprus standards, the whole planning of the place is awkward at best for a visitor. For starters, there's no underground parking lot. Given the Cyprus weather that shouldn't be a problem, but the pavement in the open lot is uneven and badly made, thus creating large pools of water when it's raining. That's really dangerous, especially for a family that has small kids. One passing car can splash you from head to toe, if you are not already half wait from opening the door of your car over a puddle. Then there's the hall elevators/stairs issue. If you have a family like us, then the only way to reach the other floors (safely and by the rules) is the elevators. Of which there are only two and are located side by side in the middle of the structure. So if you find yourselves in either end of the Mall wanting to go up, then you have to traverse half the floor back to the middle and wait for the elevator. Waiting per se is not a problem, but Cypriot elevator etiquette is in fact non existent. You can be there with a stroller, waiting in line and a bit away from the door to allow the exiting occupants to come out (it's kind of a must if you want to go in) and all of the sudden some idiots are coming from the side, pushing their way in and you are left there looking at them and wondering what on earth just happened. At some time, the idiot line runs out and then maybe you can get use the elevator. If you decide to go for the stairs then that's another thing going there. On the one side of the first floor a big sports store was made that also encompassed the electric staircase. So you can go up, but then you have to pass through stacks of merchandise that are abound in there, so you can find the way out. Again, families with small kids beware. Then there's the number of the staircases. There are 6 in total. Two at each end that go up/down and 1 on each side of the Atrium that only go up. Again if you find yourself in need to go down, then you still have to walk to each end or go for the ermmm, elevators. The third major problem, are the toilets. Sure there are many stalls, but they are again at one place only. Top floor and around the atrium. So if can't contain yourself (such as a small kid or an elderly person) then you have to make a run for it. At least all the stairs go up, though. There's also the small issue of cleanliness. I can't profess that I am a regular visitor (once every 2-months), but whenever I tried using the toilets many of the stalls were unusable as well as many of the washbasins. Baby changing rooms are also few 2-3 in top floor and basement only. As for the shopping experience, well it's ok. Same stores more or less that are in all the rest of the Malls in Cyprus. There are a couple of name brands that can only be found there, but again not worth the hassle. It's a Mall so it has its benefits like being a meeting place or a place for families on a rainy day, but I can't help thinking it was badly put together just for the sake of...
Read moreMy Mall is billed as the biggest shopping mall in Cyprus, however it is not huge by European standards. There are 95 shops, mostly small boutiques on the ground floor, plus several eating places on the first floor. There is a small skating rink on the lower floor, but no one was using it when we visited. This mall is easily accessible as it is the terminus for the number 30 bus route which runs all along the front at Limassol. Most people get off at the Marina, but as the price is the same at €1.50 wherever you get on and off, it is worth staying on to the end at no extra cost, just to view the west side of Limassol plus the mall. The young locals in Cyprus are all raving about the My Mall (We were wondering what "Mamool" was from the pronounciation!) shopping centre. It has all the shops you would expect to see in the UK and more. Plenty of places to eat too... now that's a first for me! Definitely a must if you are missing a 21st century place to shop. My Mall is a nice place to go for shopping. you can take a car or bus. Also, you can find common-famous brands from the GAP, PULL&BEAR and ZARA to Guess, Tommy Hilfiger and Massimo Dutti. If you are tourist try Ocean Basket when you are hungry and enjoy delicious...
Read moreSeptember 2024, back again to look for a particular type of gift for good friends. I knew that the range of good quality products could be found in My Mall and in particular the kind of decorative and elegant house ware that I wanted to purchase could be found in La Maison boutique. I was delighted to see exactly what I wanted among the beautifully presented designer house wares. The range is outstanding and the price range fits all budgets very reasonably. The staff are cheerful and helpful. My friends were delighted with my choice for their gifts.
