INTERSPORT - COURCHEVEL LA TANIA — Local services in Albertville

In short we went to the Intersport store in La Tania and were quoted €130 each for ski/board hire for 3 people. The price seemed fair so we accepted the offer and gave credit card details. This is where the trouble started! They tried to fob my 6ft 3" son off with the same length skis as my considerably shorter 17 year old daughter. Then during a lesson on day 1 a binding immediately came loose on the snowboard (it happens). On taking it back to the shop for repair they very condescending and said there was nothing wrong with it?!?...... but tightened it anyway. The rest of the week was fuss free UNTIL we returned the equipment. The bill should have been €390 but my partner was charged €642 in my absence. When we both returned to the store to query this they begrudgingly credited us €134, still not enough. When we questioned this 3 members of staff (all family I think?) became intimidating and aggressive and forced us to leave the store (still overcharged over €100). An unfortunate experience which soured our otherwise great holiday. We have never had any problems with Intersport in the past but believe they have made a mistake with these particular franchisee's. We will not be be letting this matter drop and will be contacting Intersports main customer services department for reimbursement and posting the outcome back here...

!!!AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS!!!

Our experience was below satisfactory from the very beginning - the lady on the cash desk was rude and dismissive of any specific requests and the equipment looked old and tired. We, however, proceeded due to the price seeming attractive.

When we came to pay at the end of the week there were lots of hidden charges that the lady on the desk attempted to quantify (and suddenly couldn't speak or understand English - despite speaking in English for the rest of the week?!) - resulting in us being over charged by more than €250!! (there were only 3 of us). Other members of staff chimed in and were very LOUD, AGGRESSIVE and INTIMIDATING - including a young member of staff punching a wall in an attempt to intimidate!

Overall, avoid this store at all costs unless you want to be grossly overcharged and recieve the worst customer service of your life. This store is the worst intersport store we have ever seen in the 30 years we have...

We hired various kit from here last week but I have my own ski boots. But what a disaster! Something has changed and my boots cause me real pain on the first day of skiing. I have always had issues with my feet being comfortable so I was pretty distraught not knowing what to do to save our special holiday. The staff here were beyond helpful and thoughtful. They added a hire pair onto our booking for as long as I wanted them. Nothing was too much trouble. He explained all the best fit areas to be aware of and we tried multiple pairs on. He even fitted extra insoles to make them as he good as he could for me. Skiing trip saved and I cannot say how much all the staff here were brilliant. Thank you...
