I am extremely thankful for this company and their services. I showed up in Saint Jean without a real plan and only knew that there was a company called Express Bourricot that "could send my bag ahead to Santiago". I walked into the office without an appointment on Oct 11th and Eric was so kind and helpful. He gave me a tag for my bag, asked where I was staying and told me they would pick it up in the morning after I left. (He was also very cool when I somehow lost the tag within an hour and had to sheepishly return to ask for a replacement). They asked me to try and estimate when I would be in Santiago and I estimated I'd be there Nov10th but Eric said that it wasn't a strict deadline and to contact them if that changed. Eric was very upfront with me that the bag was going to sit in SJPdP until the 30th when they would ship everything they had to Santiago. I appreciated the transparency because I know (like many others) I had concerns if I could actually finish and always figured if I couldn't hack it, I could bus ahead. Understanding the timeline of where my luggage would be gave me peace of mind. I don't know if the price changes based on size but I had a 3x1ft REI duffel bag that was about 30 lbs and it cost me 70€. I didn't end up making it to Santiago until Nov14th and although I forgot to update my new arrival they seemed unfazed. Hector was my contact in Santiago and was an absolute gem! I decided I wanted to walk onward to Finisterre and Muxia and he was so encouraging and helpful. I was able to meet him where the bags were stored and stash some additional things I had picked up along the way from Saint Jean in my duffel. He made it clear when the last pick up day was since it was almost the end of their season and, once again I really appreciated the transparency and communication. When I returned to Santiago about a week later, I contacted Hector and he dropped off my bag where I was staying near the cathedral for a 10€ fee which I felt well worth it. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this company for your bag needs. Everything felt straightforward and secure and everyone I spoke to was really nice and very helpful. 10/10 experience....
Read moreIn St Jean Pied de Port, I learned I could ship some luggage to Santiago to be held there until I finished the Camino. The price was excellent and they did not charge extra to hold it till I arrived in Santiago. When I finished the Camino, I called Express Bourricot and spoke with Famous Hector from Santiago. We made arrangements for him to bring my bag to my hostel for a small fee, which after walking that day, was a blessing. He personally brought my bag and we spoke for a few minutes and he made sure that I was happy and understood that their purpose was serving the Perrigrenos. The next day I needed to send a bag to my hostel in Madrid, but 5 weeks in the future. Hector collected my bag at my hostel in Santiago, will hold it then ship to be there when I arrive in Madrid to fly back home to the USA. He is holding my bad at no additional cost where the hostel wanted 8€ per night to store it till I returned to collect it to go home. Hector saved me over 250€ by arranging to hold my bag at Express Burricot instead of immediately sending it to Madrid. Again, Hector explained that their purpose was to serve the Perrigrenos. I have no doubt that he will ship it to get to my hostel in Madrid a day or two before I get there. I highly recommend the Express Bourricot service and their...
Read moreThis is the second time we have used Express Bourricot. It's always a great experience. This time, we used the mountain shuttle from La Vierge to St Jean Pied de Port and back so that we could start our camino with shorter days with the difficult first day climb. This made our camino start so much easier. On the 2nd day we could bypass Roncesvalles and walk the extra 3km to the quieter town of Burguete. Also, I need to mention how friendly and helpful the staff are. Emails always answered promptly. Shuttle prompt and the driver ...
