SUPERBE DÉCOUVERTE CUISINE DELICIEUSE,

Venue passer la journée dans le magnifique village de Saint Jean Pied de Port, J’ai choisi d’aller manger au Relais de la Rive après avoir lu les supers commentaires sur cet établissement.

Idéalement placé en bord de rivière et en plein centre ville avec plusieurs terrasses et plusieurs salles, ce restaurant, qui a récemment changé de propriétaire, est situé dans un cadre magnifique et propose une belle carte concise avec des produits locaux comme la truite d’Iraty, l’agneau des Pyrénées et le merlu.

J’ai été accueilli chaleureusement par le personnel qui était très professionnel et attentif.

J’ai pu déguster la Truite d’Iraty avec un risotto de pomme de terre accompagné d’une huile de persil et d’un beurre blanc à la moutarde à l’ancienne et c’était un pur régal ! Les autres plats servies sur les tables à côté (côtelettes d’agneau, Txuleta, Conchiglioni farcies à l’axoa,…) avaient l’air tout aussi délicieux.

Le restaurant propose également des vins et cidres locaux, j’ai gouté le cidre Bordatto qui était un parfait accompagnement pour le repas.

Idéal pour un repas familial ou repas romantique, ce restaurant avec un super rapport qualité-prix est une perle à Saint Jean Pied de Port. J’ai passé un très bon moment et j’aimerai remercier Stephane Carricaburu et toute son équipe. Je ne manquerai pas de revenir gouter d’autres plats...

We had a ver delicious meal with a suggestion of the cook, which was a typical Basque dish and my partner had a lovely pork dish. As dessert we a ganache au chocolat and i had the pavlova.
