Malinalli — Local services in Dijon

Sadly, I have to write this for my fellow vegetarians& vegans. I've never eaten meat or pork so I expressed to the cook that I never trust traiteurs who cook pig even if they make "meatless options". He assured me that they are extremely careful so I recommended them for my friend's party. I called them saying she wanted vegetarian options. She ordered two meatless options ''frijoles con queso" & "rajas con queso" and I ate only that, as everything else had meat. I got home extremely ill, vomited, with fever. My stomach completely in pain. I had to go to the hospital so I knew this wasn't normal (I've never eaten pig in my life). When I asked them to confirm, they said that they did add pork lard to the meatless options (!!!). I didn't want to leave a review without talking; so I asked why they don't tell people ordering things without meat that they will add pork. Their argument was "cheese isn't vegan." (??) They don't know that many people who can eat cheese don't eat pork? Or that vegan and vegetarian cheese exists? They said they expect everyone in France to know that they use pork lard in the recipe, even for vegetarian options, but how would everyone know this? I know many people in Mexico who make tamales without pork. So that really worries me. I just won't sleep well at night unless I tell all vegetarians&vegans to be very careful. This business gives the client the responsibility to assume that they cook with pork lard. This is why I never trusted meat businesses with "options" and never will again. They just don't learn about vegetarianism or ethics or the importance of specifying such important ingredients... and in the end they still said it's not their fault. Not vegetarian-friendly or...

We ordered tamales on Friday and she told us to pick them up at 4 pm on Monday. Well we drove 1 hour to retrieve them, and she simply said it was a misunderstanding and she was sorry. Totally unprofessional. It was super important for us for our altar de muertos. Never...

Enfin une épicerie mexicaine en France qui propose des produits 100 % authentiques et de la meilleure qualité !
