Etat d'Ame — Local services in Montpellier

I have bought many things over the years in this charming store, but I'm not sure I'll be going back after today's experience. I've mostly bought little gifts here and appreciate the uniqueness of what's offered and the nice packaging. Today at the Grand Bazaar I saw some dresses I wanted to try on and went into the cabin to try them on. If there's a sign saying you must ask first, I didn't see it. Soon though as I was starting to try on the first item the woman working there asked if there was someone in the cabin. I said yes and she mentioned I should've asked first. I apologized and it sounded like she was going to come into the cabin. She didn't, but then each time anyone came by the cabin she made sure to apologize to them saying that someone was in the cabin and hadn't asked etc etc. I decided then I really didn't want to buy anything from them and quickly got dressed. The woman was waiting for me as I opened the door where she again scolded me, telling me that next time I needed to ask to use the cabin. I said that yes, she had made that extremely clear. I almost never write reviews, but I felt I needed to write this one, and I'm sad to say I'll be going elsewhere for gifts for friends and family...

I have popped into the shop any time I visited montpellier over the years and always loved it. However I went in today with my 2 children and we started looking at the little objects together. The kids were genuinely very very well behaved and just looking at the stuff. The shop owners started hovering over us watching our every move. When we got to the back of the shop the lady was clearly not happy to see us and told the man we had a little watch toy. They continued following us for every step we took. We put stuff back and headed towards the exit door. The lady came to see us out. I asked her whether she treated every customer like that, to which she responded she hadn't treated us badly, had she?! I told her we had been visiting for years and she treated us like thieves today. As we left the shop a long couple who had been in the shop as well heard my exchange with her and told me they had witnessed how they treated us and commented that it was awful. I would skip a visit as most of what they have can be found in other local...

Tienda linda y compré solo un afiche ya que los precios sí son altos.

Lastimosamente los dueños son personas que dan muy mala espina (pensé que era la única que sintió eso pero leí más comentarios) y son algo paranoicos en cuanto a cualquier acción del cliente. Te miran feo y te siguen por toda la tienda revisando lo que has tocado (supongo que para ver que no les robaste una pelota de goma de 3€ o un bolígrafo de 5€ 🤡)...

He ido varias veces pero la verdad no me dan ganas de ir a sentirme incómoda en una tienda SIENDO CLIENTE, ver más baratijas religiosas al "estilo mexicano" y la explotación de la imagen de Frida Kahlo por parte...
