Antiquated, confusing pricing system and fine structure which seems to target tourists. I wonder how much fines they’ve gathered from clueless/m tourists who are probably more ignorant than intending to abuse the system. Unhelpful ticket attendants at the stations - they’d still sell you things without understanding what you need nor helping you to achieve your objective.
Do your research thoroughly - I learnt the hard way that the one way ticket to visit Versailles is different and that you can get a Navigo pass that covers both the airport and Versailles, esp. if you visit between after Sunday (before Thursday).

You buy a weekly card and even pay 5 euro for the card but apparently you have to put a photo on the card and they give you no option to take a photo when you buy the card . Who on their vacation is carrying around a passport sized photo .
