I was here on Sunday 7 Jan. with a friend looking for vegetarian options in the area. We asked for the main plate having the menu in English. When the food arrived we got meat and eggs on it, probably we misunderstood something when we ordered. Gently I explained to the young lady who was serving that I couldn’t eat meat and she was brutally rude saying that it was our fault and she couldn’t change anything. Even not help us somehow. I had to eat just some side dishes that were not touched from the meat. It was a really really bad experience! I still don’t know if we really ordered in a wrong way from the menu, that wasn’t clear for us, as she was arrogantly saying. Definitely I suggest the staff to be more clear and conscious that they can have many vegetarians guests. And it will be much apreciated if they are more flexible and open in case the guest make some confusion. At the end we were still hungry and disappointed. 😔 (It was Ethiopian Christmas Night, so we didn’t feel to ask for the manager or the owner in order to not disturb them on a such nice festivity). I have to say that the place is very nice and the side dishes were delicious. So just be more clearly on the description and be more flexible and polite! We felt really bad for that...
Read moreA hidden gem in a non touristic neighborhood. We're glad that we were able to find really tasty Ethiopian cuisine near where we're staying.
The staff is incredibly friendly, smiles all around. Portions were generous, and the good was freshly prepared.
We ordered the kitfo "cru", but discovered that it was cooked minimally. We usually prefer it raw and warm, but the way it was made here was perfect. The meat was well flavored and came with a side of lentils and salad to round out the protein packed meal.
The vegetarian assortment was excellent. The yellow and red lentils are deep in flavor.
The beef stew (ya bare aletcha) was also excellent. Great flavors with tender chunks of beef.
100% would recommend for locals and visitors alike. Don't be intimidated! They even have pictures so you know what...
Read moreThe food was amazing but the server was a bit unfriendly about accommodating the vegetarians in our group since they preferred not to eat from the same platter as the rest of us, which was full of meat. She also refused to give us more than one small pitcher of water for a group of 8 when we asked. So we had to flag her down several times to ask for more water since a full pitcher only filled 4 glasses. She seemed annoyed about that too. That said, we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere even though the service was a little disappointing. I would understand the attitude if we were being stereotypically loud americans or something, but we're a pretty quiet group, we reserved in advance, and we speak fluent French, so I'm not sure what the...
