I'll be very honest. A string of bad luck lead to this low review, but a lot frustration could have been prevented by some simple signposting an maybe a couple more lanterns across the area.
We booked a Disney deal and had to pick up our Disney Passes at the resort. It was very annoying since we arrived at 11 am after a 4 hour journey, but check-in was after 3 so it felt very pointless because we arrived right in front of Disneyland but had to either wait and take a bus for 30 minutes or pay a taxi €20. We did the latter and left our luggage at the 'front desk'..Or so we thought..(with no explanation that our wristbands were also our room keys. Also no mention of our room numbers, no map). We thought we were done, but no, we had to pick up our Disney passes at another building; the Welcome House. Which was not signposted from where we arrived. We walked for 20 minutes along the road , because that was the first sign that read'welcome house'. After walking around in circles, impatiently because we payed for 2 days of Disney and felt that we were just wasting time we found the Welcome House. (which, to be clear, is NOT the place you arrive at when you come by bus or taxi), so it's like a double check in. The guy at the welcome house told us that we can take the bus until midnight, so we figured we could still get our keys and luggage after midnight and off we went to the bus stop... but we got lost again! We couldn't find a single sign to where the bus stops are, but we figured we could stay in Marne la vallee until midnight, so it wasn't a big deal.
We had a lot of fun at the parks!
Around 21:30 we got tired and figured we'd get a cab again.. But somehow this time it cost €10 more because it's 'night time'. €30 for a 6 km drive..
Anyway, ready for bed, lets go get our keys and luggage... Nothing.
'Front desk' completely closed, Phone assistance closed at 9, still no access to the app/website, welcome center also closed. No luggage, no room and almost everything was closing . Thank goodness the Bowling Area staff knew how to reach security an they helped us out tremendously and were all extremely kind and understanding! We felt so bad for the security guy who had to walk all over the park to get our stuff. What a great guy!
We got our room number but couldn't find it because it was very dark.
Again, a very nice lady from staff saw us walking around with google maps and helped us.
When we got to the room we were amazed at how great it was. Once you understand where everything is in day light, it's a quite a great place. Too bad we had to check out before 10 am because there was plenty of stuff to do.
So besides our own stupidity, the following would've helped people like us tremendously, especially now that there is a direct train from Holland to Disney many people will be arriving by bus or taxi.
If someone leaves their luggage because they're early, warn them that they wont be able to retrieve it after a certain time or please put the luggage in the room or at the security office for all the guests that haven't picked it up yet. Not all of us have a car.
We've tried for two days to register through the app and websites but can't get past the email verification. It just gives errors.
We did have a luggage ticket with our room number but thought it was our luggage number. Nobody actually told us we already had the keys and room number, since we were 4 hours early.
Please add a pedestrian sign that points to the welcome center from the moment you arrive by taxi or bus.
You're affiliated with Disney, so if they close at 22:00 at least have someone at the entrance of your park or a sign with a phone number we can reach until 23.00 if there are any problems or questions.
it would be even more amazing if we could just go to Disney or a Center Parcs office/person nearby the trains station to get the keys an tickets, since you can already leave your luggage at Disney.
All of the staff was extremely nice and friendly, and the cottage was pretty much perfect! So absolutely no...
Read moreAwful service for late arrivals. The guy at the gate wasn’t prepared, so we had to wait almost 30 mins, after a long day of travel and with a small child. We were lucky one restaurant was still open at 10pm, but the food was awful (Vapiano). Our cottage is nicely decorated and I couldn’t find any shortcomings.
Only missing salt and sugar in the kitchen cupboards. For a holiday home I’d expect that, especially if the local supermarket doesn’t sell small packs and there’s no facility for dine out breakfast.
Also no second roll of toilet paper, so you’ll have to buy it at the supermarket.
Beds are comfortable, rooms have a good size, even at the lowest price range (comfort). Bathrooms and kitchen were very clean.
After a little search I was able to find the blow dryer, it was hidden in one of the bedrooms.
The TV could be a bit bigger, it’s hard so see anything, if sitting on the sofa and it’s impossible to read the menus of the restaurants on it. At least there’s also a phone app.
The choice of restaurants is awful. Vapiano‘s food is not eatable and way too expensive for what it is. The crepes place was nice for dinner, even though we didn’t expect it, as the reviews are very bad. The burger place is only open for lunch, would be so much more convenient to be open in the evening as it’s more kids friendly food.
The supermarket is alright, just very expensive.
The water park was lovely, the snack café inside not so much.
There are quite a few activities, but as always in a center parcs, they’re all very pricy and some of it is definitely not worth the money.
Overall, we would probably not come back again and would spend the money somewhere else with...
