An Exceptional Culinary Voyage at Οψάριον Fish Bar
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you're seeking a transcendent seafood experience, look no further than the hidden gem known as Οψάριον Fish Bar. This eatery masterfully marries Greek tradition with an international flair, using only the freshest of seafood in a surprisingly creative way.
From the moment we placed our order, we were met with warmth and professionalism. The staff demonstrated both friendliness and efficiency, making the process smooth and enjoyable. Even better was the engaging presence of the patron chef who shared his extensive knowledge and experience, further enhancing our overall experience.
Our culinary voyage began with a crisp green salad, enlivened by the harmonious pairing of green apple and citrus vinaigrette - a refreshing kickstart. We continued our journey with the grilled octopus, perfectly tender and beautifully accented by salami and fresh greens - a tantalizing combination that left us craving for more.
The shrimp bao buns were nothing short of a revelation, showcasing the art of fusion cuisine at its best. Light, fluffy buns enveloped succulent shrimp, culminating in an explosion of flavors that was unforgettable. Adding to this, the fried courgettes were a delight, crisp and flavorful, demonstrating that even the simplest of ingredients can become a standout when prepared with care and skill.
The pièce de résistance, however, was the swordfish fillet burger. Layered with homemade tuna bacon, onion pickles, and tomato chutney, each bite was a symphony of textures and flavors that had us in raptures. This innovative and delicious dish is a testament to the establishment's commitment to crafting unique, mouth-watering creations.
While Οψάριον Fish Bar may only offer take-away, this does not detract from the quality or appeal of its culinary creations. In fact, it only adds to its charm, enabling customers to enjoy exceptional dishes at home or on a picturesque Greek beach.
In a world where the extraordinary can often be hard to find, Οψάριον Fish Bar truly stands out. Its inspired menu, friendly service, and commitment to the freshest seafood make it a must-visit. Don't miss the chance to embark on this delightful...
Read moresome things we did try: Green salad with pistachio - great! 5* - loads of pistachios! :) Garlic potato puree - this is something that I order for grilled fish (its not an appetizer!) Enough for two. 4* Tarama spread - great - but will be enough for 3 people - add extra bread for it! 4* Grilled octopus with potato salad - not a big fan of the potato salad, octopus was nice - 3-4* Grilled Calamari with Humus - nice, give it a try! 5* Fried Shrimps - whats out these are tiny shrimps that you eat whole - did not like it 1* Grilled sea-bream - GREAT! Fresh, tasty, add bread or potato pure and salad for a full meal. 6 euros is a bargain! Shrimps on the grill.... nice, but for 14 euro not worth it in my opinion, And you will have a lot of "dirty work" to get them of their shells since they are already covered with dressing! 3* Bao buns with tempura shrimp - two nice, funny, fluffy buns with single large shrimp each. 5* Sando sandwich with tempura cod - nice, big sandwiches - good value for money, I would prefer the fish to be without skin, but otherwise 5* only one desert - lemon tart - nice - 5*
Summary - you can definitely find good things here - I would start with fresh grilled fish, plus bread or pure, plus some salad and lemon...
Read moreIf I had to recommend one restaurant in Argostoli this would be it. We came here 3 times on our weeklong vacation. This place is takeout only, and an earlier review mentioned they close at 2030, but we went at around 2130 and found that they were still open so I think the hours on Google Maps are now accurate. We got sea bass one time, sea bream the other. It doesn't look very appetizing - they put the fish in a box and there's this creamy lemon sauce you can pour over, along with a small tomato salad - but the fish is so well done and very fresh. They also have these amazing bao buns with crispy shrimp, spiced mayo, and pickled veggies that was the only non-Greek food we wanted to eat during our trip. They also had wild amaranth greens (seasonal greens that differ) that were perfectly steamed and came with a lemon wedge. One time we brought the food back to our BNB to eat, the other two times we sat by the water - in bringing the food back it was still hot...
