Tzivras Restaurant — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

This place is an example of simple things done very well. It has been our favourite restaurant in Argostoli since we stumbled upon it in May 2017. We have made sure to eat here at least once on our trips to Kefalonia, wherever we might be staying. This time, we actually stayed in Argostoli, so we were able to visit on multiple occasions. It never disappoints and is still full of locals more than tourists. We also took advantage of their takeaways this time, as our apartment had a microwave and an oven. Great quality and huge portions. It remains my favourite restaurant in Argostoli, but my wife has had her head turned by another restaurant. A new discovery competing for our trade, but more of that on their review. Tzivras is the real deal. The brothers(?) running it are friendly and attentive, but also ensure that their locals are never left wanting. Daily dishes are all on display and always look and smell great. Family run over three generations this place sits quietly and unassuming in one of the busiest side streets in Argostoli offering meals cooked with locally sourced fresh products

It is only a skip hop and a jump away from Argostoli harbour where you can find the Caretta Caretta turtles and the beautiful Lithostroto shopping strip.

It has a basic set menu and offers the locally produced Robola wine to complete the experience

Expect nothing more than basic but then basic is just fine when you focus on the simple things in life.

This place is simply wonderful, clearly loved by locals for many many years and for those that have found it on previous trips and flock back, we met one american couple there, the womans grand father was born on the island and had been coming to the place for years, said they always return when visiting as "you wont find a better authentic meal". It's a simple canteen style, wonderful local home cooked food, best meal we have had on the island. The team that work/run the place are so lovely & friendly. A must!!!
