Ios archaeological museum, houses the findings that were collected through the years. It was founded my mayor Fragoulis Kortesis (whose initials ΦΜΚ can be found in several building in Chora). The collection was enriched by the findings from the excavations that took place in the 80's in areas such as Scarkos and others. We thought it would be lovely during our island hops to remember the incredible history and contribution of Greece. What’s a bit sad is how little there is to see because, quite frankly, the island was raided by opportunistic ‘archeologists etc.’ but there are some lovely items and the whole exhibit can be covered in 20mins… just drop in! Shame there’s no shop… would be good to put some extra money in the pot so they could...
