iOS is one of my favourite places to visit, however as a tourist there are many things to note prior to coming.
Start the night in Fun Pub head to Absinth bar head to Circus head to Escobar head to Slammer Bar head to Silent Disco head to Pash
Further explanation on point (3) I visited iOS in summer 4 years ago with a tour, I decided that it was a good idea to rent a moped instead of a normal quad bike. After renting this moped I needed to go into town to try and fix my phone, while I was driving through the mountain I found myself entering the apex of a corner where the whole moped had slipped from underneath my feet due to loss of traction. I then stood up and noticed that my arm was not exactly sitting on my shoulder and instead completely dislocated, I found myself holding my arm and trying to lift the moped from the middle of the road, after struggling for a good 15 minutes I waited for help where a stranger came and helped me with my bike, after some time another man came and rushed me to hospital. I arrived in hospital where I was treated like a piece of excrement, while having trouble walking and having exposed wounds on all my feet and legs, the doctor made me walk on what I believe was beach sand throughout the entire hospital until I reached my hospital bed. Once I was settled they had asked me where I was staying, without a phone and no recollection of the hotel name I was clueless. After several attempts I finally managed to remember a name close to the hotel I was staying at and the tour manager came as soon as possible. I was left on the bed for several hours while the doctor decided to go outside and have what I believe was half a packet of cigarettes while I sat in pain waiting. Finally after some wait time the doctor had popped my shoulder back into place but then advised that I will need an MRI in order to check if I had any damage and that I should call my insurance company to tell them I fell. After asking the cost I was shocked to hear that this doctor wanted to take 6000euro from me to do an MRI. After this I said no and got a second opinion from a local Australian doctor where he checked my arm and advised that this local hospital is running a scam for tourists. The moral of this story is to take my experience and make sure you are careful and think twice when you...
Read moreDid you know that only 53 km form Santorini you can find beautiful island of Ios. It belongs to the Cyclades in the Aegean sea. Ios was my discovery of last year. If you are going to Ios in off party season, you will find gorgeous quiet and peaceful island with white beaches, lots of good restaurants, spectacular Chora of Ios, that is not so crowded as Santorini and amazing sunset views. You can enjoy sunset form Ios Chora hill (Chapel of Agios Nikolaos) or visit one of sunset bars with infinity pool, good music and drinks. I was at Alma sunset Ios bar and I can recommend it. Last year I came in beginning of June, this year in end of August both times was memorable and I am sure that I will go there again and again. Ios is easy accessible by ferry. Just choose one of the companies: Blue Star Ferry, Seajet, Golden Star or Zante Ferries. I would suggest to book the hotel next to the beach, but hey - if you like city stay at Ios Chora it is very close to the beach. If you want to go around the island you can go with public transportation https://ktel-ios.gr - it is clean, comfy and cheap. My favourite place for breakfast: Cantina del mar, for diner time “The Nest” at Chora. Take a leap, go to Ios, you will...
Read moreIn 2021 I was doing Island hopping for the first time and last stop was Ios. Since then I am coming here every year. Here is what I found are the best things to do when coming for the first time: -Mylopotas beach (party at farout club and beach bar) -Pathos club (Must see for sunset-this place is boogie af) -Alma sunset bar (best service and incredible relaxed vibe for sunsets) -karma restaurant (service is not the best but you have to try the Misto Italiano) -calilo Hotel (most exclusive Hotel on the island- we are also broke so don’t worry you can still visit this part of the island by car or quad(very intense drive from ios Chora but it was fun though) and pay 50€ for two people to enter the pool section and enjoy the resort) -yummy is a great gyros pita restaurant near the Chora Main Street -innioranza is a small boutique in Chora with very beautiful accessories for very little money. Buying new chains every year since they are stainless steel and very high quality (price per chain is 15€)
If you want to know which places not to visit just check my other reviews, I was very consistent with...
